I have never said that Bradley didn't love Basketball and the Ashland girls. I have my reasons for stating this and I believe that I am justified by my statements. I am not always right on my predictions. I am just about 90%. Bradley is a great person. When he first took this group of girls they steadily progressed into a good team. This was a five year process for this current group of girls. Trust me, he will not spend another five years nor will he be there for the current crop of 7th and 8th graders by the time they are High Schoolers. Good Luck to Russell and Reed and Ashland and Bradley. My comments are not degrading in nature and I hope that they are not taken that way but I stand by my posts. :thumb:

Didn't mean anything bad by that comment about Kidwell, he advanced himself. I think Kidwell will do fine with the boys but he knew when to leave. I will say the same for the Kittens, if they don't go to Diddle this year then Bradley will probably step down. He is a very good coach but that is my prediction.

I will stick to my guns about Kidwell getting while he could. Now on to other things...With a quick gaze into my crystal ball I see Coach Reed asking his former standout player Phil Cassity to help him with the girls. IMO, this will become a very wise move for Reed. The former coach and player re-united!

Is Parsley's Dad going to help him. He played college and could be a big asset to the program. Is Cassity going to help?

Assistant Coach at Mississippi State and Head Coach at Miligan College in Tenn. I have his entire coaching tenure sitting here in front of me if you need it.

I am not happy about my prediction about Cassity not coming to pass but hey even Simon Cowl had picked David Archuletta to win American Idol. Great game by Ashland. They have really good pitching. Those 3 seniors will be missed next year but I am sure that there will be 3 new ones to step right in there and continue Ashland's dominance.

She is a very good athlete. Did she inherit that from Cynthia or Sam? Just joking. Russell will miss her next year both on the Diamond and on the Court.

Who is the best hire? Just as Grover has stated, alot has to do with whom you think best meets the needs for the position. Whether the SBDM, the principal, the players, the fans, the community realizes it or not, the Lady Devils Basketball program is at the crossroads. If the wrong decision is made then in 2 years there will be another coaching vacancy. Having no head coaching experience is not that big of a deal if the philosophy and knowledge is there along with teaching skills and passion. All great coaches are rookies to begin with. There have been plenty of successful varsity coaches to win at the school where they got their first head coaching start. I have stated all along that Cassity is the best choice and that is not a knock on any other applicant. My prediction about Dodd has come to pass as well. I stick to my guns (thoughts) about Russell hiring Cassity. I will also predict this, if Cassity is not hired then Russell will see a dramatic shortage of players over the next 1-2 years and may want to consider playing in the small school division of the middle school ovc. A sub is different from a TEACHER or someone in ADMINISTRATION. You just enjoy quacking don't you? I stand by my post.

Even if he did apply he would not be considered and it has nothing to do with him personally or his coaching abilities. Russell will never hire someone to coach either boys or girls unless they are an employee of the school system.

Hopefully, Russell will make a decision this week and put an end to all of this speculation.

I am sure that Ivan has had a say so in the JFL of Russell. That is part of the reason for his great football program.

I want to clarify some points on my previous post. The Middle school and Freshwomen teams are a result of their feeder system. It would do Kidwell and Cassity both a world of good to start having a major role in what goes on in the MMYBL.

The program's numbers are down for several reasons. The Freshwomen and Middle School Girls have been over looked, under developed for some time now. If Cassity becomes the next "Skipper" of the Lady Devils he will be cleaning up a mess that has been there for the last couple of years. That mess is not a reflection of the young ladies or lack of them. With all due respect when are schools going to start electing to place people into these coaching positions that have atleast played the game before and has the compacity to teach under developed kids how to play the game. This post is not a derogatory attack on Russell but all schools that fall into this political trap.
