  1. This is three really close losses so far. For a team that plays as many really young players, WV should be really good in the future- especially with the new coach they have to lead them there.
  2. Walton's team is pretty young correct? How is Villa Madonna?
  3. #32 Matt Storie, I think is his name and I think hes a junior #44 Shaeffer? #25 #20 I dont know the rest of the names but I remember a few. I'm not for sure the fifth starter and I think I got these four right. I beleive they are all 10 and 11 graders. Correct me if Im wrong.
  4. I heard Walton's Freshman beat Coopers Freshman by quite a bit.
  5. I will agree, both teams looked inexperienced and young- a lot of sloppy plays and turnovers, and a lot of shots that should have dropped for both teams. But Walton should be ok this year, in my opinion.
  6. Walton looked good tonight- more athletic than I thought they would be. From the looks of the team tonight and talking to a number of people at the school, they have a lot of young talent coming up that could be really good. Vance Sullivan looked really tought tonight- he is going to be a real talent in the years to come (hes a sophomore right?).
  7. Im not for sure on Sorrell's stats- but he definitely had an impact. As far as for Dixie- they have a guard (#23) who was pretty good and Pike was good as well. Pike though needs to just get more comfortable with the Varsity game and he will be VERY tough IMO.
  8. Just curious why didnt Cosby from J-town and Johnson from North Hardin not play last season? And why are they ranked so high if they didnt play last season?
  9. If this is the kid Scott's coach referred to as "Kola" on the court at SK on Saturday, then I will agree- he is good. A big body and he is definitely talented around the basket. He made some mistakes and lacked some intensity at times, but he really impressed me.
  10. I thought that Cov Cath looked very strong- with Shover and Isler in the line-up they will be tough. Maile is one heck of an athlete- in my opinion he was by far their best player. While I didnt expect to say it this year, SK looked tough against CCH- no real impact players, but the team plays well together and was very scrappy. Sorrell should be tough this year for them. Beechwood was another team that really impressed me- very athletic, and all of their players except the big man could handle the ball well. Dixie impressed me against Oak Hills, however Oak Hills played, in my opinion, a little sloppy.
  11. Overall the SK and CovCath game was pretty close. I think both halves combined CovCath won by one or two. Both teams looked tough. Shover (I think thats who it was) from CCH was out and Isler is still recovering from FB season, i guess, so he didnt play either. Dixie played well, for the most part, against Oak Hills. They won 3/5 quarters (5th was only 6 min.), but got beat pretty bad in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Dixie should be good and Zeke Pike should be a tough player in the years to come.
  12. I think it is a positive thing to engage children this age in political discussion, but the way in which she did was irresponsible and immature.
  13. I'll be going. I heard that UofL squeeked by Georgetown College in an exhibition game- is this true? If so NKU may have a chance, but I wouldnt bet on it- UL should be a solid team this year. The womens game may be a different story though. Should be a fun time!
  14. ok apparently I cant figure out how to post an image!
  15. Ive taken Al Gore's message to heart and haven't given him any money at all. Those are pretty harsh words for a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. But I guess the same goes for Mother Theresa and Martin Luther King Jr., how dare they educate and inspire others to change the world for the better. That was a ridiculous statement.
  16. I agree that a greater impact could be seen by private organizations and individuals becoming involved in environmental sustainability compared to government mandates to do. While I do beleive we should have federal programs to research how we can best reduce our impact and how we can harness sustainable forms of energy, the majority of the difference is going to have to come from individuals and private organizations. As far as your reasons you listed, what specific mandates are you speaking of and what are the specific implications on us? If you are speaking of frivolous spending on things like orbital sun shields (I am unaware of what these are but I was introduced to them by Hoot in the above post) and similar projects I agree that funds would probably be spent best elsewhere. I am absolutely interested in spending as little money as possible, but small individual actions would create a great difference with minimal impact on our pockets.
  17. I am unaware of "orbiting solar shades", their purpose, effect, and cost and I feel that the earth has its own ways of controlling the populations of the species that live on it. But in response to your comment on sequestering carbon emmisions and controlling human production of greenhouse gases- are you saying that the environment and its inhabitants would be better off if we continued to waste and emmit harmful toxins into it? Would this somehow benefit the earth by helping to slow "global cooling". I thought your opinion of how to handle issues of the environment was to have a "hands off" approach? A real "hands off" approach would be to limit our impact as much as possible by conserving what we use and using as many sustainable resources as possible.
  18. What proposals and remedial actions would have a negative impact? I don't understand how striving to use less in general, seeking alternative and sustainable forms of energy, and doing our part to conserve the resources we do use through recycling and other techniques could have a negative impact on the environment.
  19. I dont think that our goal should be to "cool" or "warm" the world. Our goal should be to limit our lasting effect on the earth so that the earth can continue with its natural cycle or way of working. We don't understand the earth well enough and haven't been a part of it for long enough to understand these cyclical heating and cooling stages of the earth and how we fit into that equation, but we do have the ability to limit our affect on them. My stance is not one of political interest or anything related to that, but merely, in my opinion, a common sense approach to how we interact with the world we live in. In my opinion, God, in some way, created the earth that we live in and we should be gracious enough to be responsible participants in its care.
  20. Regardless of whether or not global warming is occuring, (and I do feel that certain environmental damage has been caused due to industrialization) it is irresponisble of us, as inhabitants of the earth, to not see that our actions affect the physical world around us. It is unfair of us to take the "if its not broke don't fix it" idealogy. We should be willing to take personal and social responsibility of the world around us, regardless of the evidence of global warming- there are countless other environmental detriments that are a direct result of our irresponsible actions.
  21. Im sure that this does happen other places, but from what I have seen (and I thought RH was a pretty small school) this happens a lot and on a big scale at RH (OJ Mayo, Bill Walker, Dakota Euton, Chad Jackson). Im from NKY and I hear of this happening some, but not to the extent that it appears it happens at RH. Just an observation.
  22. Thats not too big at all, but for a freshman he might grow a bit. Some players can play bigger than thier height though. Is this the case?
