  1. I expect your BabyBirds have the exact same attitude. Just cannot imagine where it comes from.
  2. I think it will be a good game, but in the end, I think B'Wood has too much. I'm very anxious to see the HHS dominant running back against the dominant Tiger defense. I hear he is an absolute load, but the B'Wood line & LB's are also quite a load. One big concern I have is that B'Wood hasn't had a game within 3 touchdowns and the 1's have not played much in the second halves...so I'm not sure how they will react in a tight game. I guess we'll see next week.
  3. Great post paNDA... We honestly have some very good coaches on the rise in NKY, but they all need to go through the fire of a few up-n-down seasons. They also need to go thru multiple senior classes to be able to learn how to coach different talent levels and mesh personalities. Then I personally feel they will be able to be considered "the best". Until then, they are very good up-n-coming coaches with a ton of promise that are guiding their programs in the right direction. It will also help to schedule and beat tough competition "every" season
  4. Well take a couple of minutes to view the FB, VB, Soccer, and even the Golf forums for both the boy's AND girl's. It is truly amazing what happens when a program is successful and has the "top" coach. I'll guarantee she's had just as many, or more, quit or transfer within the past 3-5 years than transferred in. As I stated, every school has, or gets, transfers almost every year...it takes a heck of a coach to get them adjusted to such a demanding program and to make it gel. Along with BC, the most successful programs in NKY over the past 2-3yrs have had, or still have, transfers or kids living out of the district (Ryle, Conner, NDA, HHS). Those coaches have been getting incredible praise, but no mention of transfers. Oh well, I'm done with this topic...she is hands down the best in NKY...once someone sustains their success over the long-haul, such as Darpel and McDonald, then they can be put at the same level. Until then, Nope!
  5. The typical "With all due respect" and then slam her. Stowers is a great coach and a super nice guy, but, give some credit to the players. SK hasn't had much talent until the current senior class showed up as 8th graders and he was hand-picked to coach them. They'll miss last year's seniors, but once this very talented senior class graduates (Fig twins, Tolliver, and Smith)...let's see if he can keep the program at the same level or even close to it? I'm actually curious to see if he continues to coach once this class graduates. With all due respect, until a NKY coach can sustain 20+ wins for 25yrs...Fookes is in a class all alone. Every school in NKY has, or has had, transfers or player's living out of district...so the "with her own player's" comment doesn't hold water. If Boone County had open enrollment like Kenton County...there would be total chaos on this message board
  6. I will say the Bred's were well prepared and much better than expected. I personally will never say the Tiger's had an easy time with any team. B'Wood scored on their first possession (missed PAT). The Bred's scored on their first possession and took a 7-6 lead. The Tiger's went on to score 28 unanswered (including a kick-off return and a pick-6) to take a 34-7 half-time lead. That score stood until the final 10-15 seconds when the 2's scored making it 42-7. The Tiger's just seemed somewhat disinterested when they came back out for the 2nd half. The offense stayed conservative in the 2nd half with "the run" and just chewed clock. The Bred's kept working and just didn't quit. They had some really good, well conditioned, athletic players that played on both sides of the ball from beginning to end...They will certainly be future impact players for the Varsity program.
  7. Congrat's to the Tigger's and Kudos to the Breds for such a gutsy performance and playing hard to the very end.
  8. I guess I watched a different game as well because I didn't see them cross mid-field 3 or 4 times in the first half (perhaps for the game) and I can only remember one "bad" penalty which was on a punt or kick return. Even then, the return barely crossed mid-field before it was brought back. If that's the case, in the 1st half, 3 straight penalties on B'Wood and the long touchdown run that was called back because of a holding penalty...hurt them as well. It could have easily been 28-0 at the half. Congrat's to both team's the rest of the way.
  9. Don't know how it works, but I heard it will be at the Birdhouse.
  10. Honestly, not sure. I've only heard that the two conference winners play for the championship and supposedly the two teams were decided last night.
  11. The Frosh team has pretty much slipped under the radar all season. Their 1's have given up "one" touchdown in 7 games. Boone punched it in (2nd qtr) after recovering a fumble inside the BW 10 yard line. Then BW ran off 37 straight points. They don't have many standout players and they have "zero" egos...they are extremely well coached, well prepared, and very well conditioned. Agreed, it will be a very interesting game between BW and HHS.
  12. It's not an AAU team. I will PM you so this topic can focus on Casey's commitment.
  13. Casey Jackson - NDA - Youngstown State Tessa Elkins - Lakota West - Murray State Alexis Rogers - Lakota West - Duke Moriah Hodge - Glen Este - Indiana State Jacy Bradley - Boone - Saint Louis Kelsey Sharkey - St. Ursula - App State Gabby Smith - Mt. Notre Dame - Vanderbilt Lacey Brasseaux - Denim Springs LA - Expected to commit any day!
  14. A big Congratulation's to NDA's Casey Jackson for her verbal commitment to D1 program Youngstown State University. YSU is very fortunate to have landed such a wonderful and talented young lady. Casey, we are "sooo" proud of you and wish you the best of luck! The long hours and hard work has paid off. Also, congratulation's goes out to Mom and Dad for their dedication and sacrifice. Lastly, congratulation's to our Summer team. 7 of 8 player's have committed to D1 programs and the 8th player is expected to commit within the next 2 weeks. Kudos to "all" of the coaches who have taken part in their success over the years.
  15. And they appear to have a pretty loaded freshmen team as well.
  16. 33-0 at the half. 2's got a lot of valuable minutes. Kudos to the coaching staff for coaching hard from the opening kick to the final second of the game.
  17. Good back-n-forth game. Too bad it had to end on a turnover. Congrat's to the Raiders and their 6-0 start. Should be a good game next week @ B'Wood.
  18. Levandusky...great person & great practice coach. In time, she would make a solid game coach as well. The huge time commitment of being a head-coach may be very tough on her, but ya never know.
  19. The Tigger's gave up their 1st special teams TD of the season. The second team played the second half and did a really nice job. Kudos to the Jaguars for playing hard for 40 minutes. Overall, it was not a very good game for BW. They just didn't come with the fire and intensity we've seen so far this season. I'm sure that will be "addressed" over the next few day's.
  20. He did transfer last year. He has been injured so far this season, but will eventually be in the backfield for the Tigers.
  21. The game was played on Thursday. No close games yet...which may come back to bite them later. So far, the coaches are doing a great job at keeping them focused each week. Agreed...several teams can beat them on any given night. They hook-up with Ryle in about 3-4 weeks.
