  1. That's just mean hurtful. It was actually a pretty good match-up. Sycamore backed out last season due to an oversight on their schedule. BC contacted several schools and no one could take a game on short notice. PM needed the game which required a home-n-home which is typical. The alternative was to not play at all. Anyway, all I wanted to do was follow the guidelines and post a game score. I wasn't planning to defend the thread or take shots. Moderator...please close this thread!
  2. Boone County 68, Purcell Marian 45 Boone County (3-0) - Bradley 8 5 26, Marschall 2 1 5, Davis 4 1 9, Bowling 2 6 10, Sandlin 3 2 8, Combs 3 2 8, Nash 1 0 2. Totals: 23 17 68. 3-pointers: B 5(Bradley 5); P 2(Schaser, Brown). Boone's down this year, but showing some heart. They will lose some they should win and may steal one or two they should probably lose. Nell will most definitely have to work some magic to be competitive night-in and night-out.
  3. Ryle is exactly where she needs to be. From first hand experience, she needs the LW summer program much more than they need her. It's a very good fit.
  4. In the summer, Moss plays for the organization ran by Lakota West's Girl's head coach. Since these player's are often seen around the LW gym these rumors get started.
  5. I was there an hour ago and they were already there. They are whining about the cold weather up here. It's only 4 degrees warmer in Crittenden County...so tell them to "let it go!!!"...
  6. Grandpa is very influencial in her life and those two are very close. My guess is he gave a little nudge!
  7. You are surprised they are claiming "9"? Heck, I expected them to claim every player on both sides of the ball, a couple of subs, most of the coaching staff, and a couple of cheerleaders.
  8. She attended Anderson last year. Also just signed with SE Missouri State.
  9. Moss is playing and is certainly worth the price of admission.
  10. Absolutely agree. Top to bottom HHS looks to be the top team; however, the #1 pre-season team for the past 3yrs (at least) have fallen. It really is tough to have, and maintain, the "X" on the back. This is going to be a very exciting season with a lot of fast/transition basketball. I personally believe it is completely wide open and will go to the team that gets hot in the end.
  11. I've heard she has decided to not play in college. She is an extremely intelligent young lady and I believe she has decided to focus on academics. Obviously, things are always subject to change, but that's what I have heard.
  12. Yes, she started. Not flashy, but is a very good defender and will contribute 8-10pts & 6-8 rebs per night.
  13. Absolutely correct WVFrank (case by case)...your situation was very difficult and certainly sounds like you were wronged. You know as well as I do that times have changed in a very big way. Back in the day, however wrong it was/is to physically touch a kid, it was done quite often and those offenders to this day probably still don't think they did anything wrong. In today's world, so many kids are so used to being coddled and having it all that it becomes an expectation in nearly every aspect of their lives. Even in the corporate world we're seeing it in the younger generation in a big way...If they feel "it's not fair" OR "if it can't be my way"...no problem, I'll quit and go somewhere else". Many just don't understand "suck it up and deal with it". It's not always the parents, but as LBBC stated above...in many case's they/we are largely to blame. But, "the leaders" need to put it all on the table and have the same rules for everyone...without exception...or they will lose all credibility.
  14. Well it's safe to say one of them won't...right? The 33rd has got to be the toughest district in the 9th this year. One very capable team will be sent home early. I'm personally glad the district tourney is at Boone; however, home court advantage hasn't meant much in the District tourney the past couple of years...so it's up for grabs. This is the first year I can remember that the season match-up's have meant so much.
  15. So according to your post...Boone will not make it out of the district?
  16. They quietly seem to be right there every year. They have both played scrimmages against some decent teams within the past couple of weeks, but never seem to have the need to discuss. You can add NCC along with these two. BC & NDA will lose games they should win and win games they should lose...But in the end, they will always be dangerous.
  17. In many many cases it depends on the player and the impact he/she has on the program. If the player is an impact player and the "meal-ticket" they tend to be welcomed back; however, if the player is not very talented...it's usually good riddens. Too many player's need to be coddled these day's...which tends to create tension amongst the rest of the team. In the end, it's up to the coach.
  18. She is right where she belongs and will be successful at Ryle. She's a great player and an even better young lady, but would have had a very tough time in Fookes' program.
  19. Moss will be there or at least she'll be back. Bank on it!
  20. I didn't have a dog in the fight, but was at the game. NCC was absolutely dominant on both sides of the ball. It was also absolutely clear that NT was hurting when he tried to plant-n-cut... Bred's fans have every right to boast; however, with such a "dominant" performance against a somewhat lackadaisical performance from BW...shouldn't there perhaps be a "little bit" of concern that it took a very fortunate punt return followed quickly by a fumble return...to actually seal the game? Oh well, perhaps it's just me. Good luck to all the NKY teams...bring'em home.
  21. Honestly, anyone that knows how Niko prefers to run...absolutely knows he was far from 100%. His foot just would not allow him to stop/plant/cut like he normally does. The Bred's played a fantastic/inspired game and was the better team on Friday night. I would "never" say the outcome would have been different with Niko 100%, but he would have certainly put more pressure on the "D" if he was at his best. He should have never been in a game with no meaning; however, he's has way too much heart to stand on the sidelines and watch...
  22. Thank you DMZ for such a classy quote. Both teams played hard last night and the game deserves the attention…not what will happen over the next 3yrs and what “Dale” will do to put us in our place. The fact is the BW freshmen put 25 well conditioned athletes on the field to play both sides of the ball for 10 games and they were “perfect”. An outstanding coaching staff gelled this team and made them believe. This is an awesome group of young men that refused to let egos or personal agendas get in the way of their end goal. Both sides can come up with several “what if’s”…what if the Bird’s didn’t have 12 men on the field, what if the BW corner doesn’t fall on the 1st TD, what if there wasn’t 30yds tacked on to the end of the run that led to the final Bird TD…it could go on-n-on. The 1A Tigers may never beat the 5A Bird’s ever again on any level, but the 2008 Tiger’s will forever be the undefeated Freshmen Champion’s and it can never be taken away. Beating such an incredible high-profile storied program in their house is just the icing on the cake. No “what if” will ever take away from this tremendous accomplishment. Also, hats off to the BW fans for coming out to support their team. It sure appeared as though the Red outnumbered the Blue…and the team certainly fed off of it.
