We went down tonight to a good Russell team. Our GCHS girls are athletes and have nothing to hang their heads about this year. This coaching staff this year has done more for these girls, truly a great job. If they stay with the program, the administration gets these girls the facilities they need (indoor hitting facility, etc.), GCHS will be a power house in the softball program in the very near future.

Very true doc, these boys are pushing hard right now, let me tell you...

I am very proud of this team, from the coaching staff to all the team members. They have shown a lot of character and guts. We finished the season 14-15, while that may not be a winning reord for the season these this team are winners and GCHS will be a great team in the near future with this coaching staff, the booster program, the adminisstration and the support from the community that has came together this year

we got beat 7-6 Rain/lightening delay in 5th for about an hour, we we up, then we had our infamous bad inning and they got up on us 7-6. another storm came in the top of the 7th and the game got called. Lynn Taylor hurt her finger pretty bad at first base in the game making a catch, it get's xrayed tomorrow, she may be out to pitch against Russell. We have a really good freshman pitcher, Lisa, she may have to step up and pitch the big game on Tuesday night aganst Russell in the district tourney at 8 p.m. at Russell. We have our work cut out for us but we can play with them if we bring our a game.

Girls game for Saturday has been changed to 11 a.m. instead of 1 p.m. Let's have a good crowd to root on their last game.

Plus it was senior night last night, which was tough and bitter sweet...

All good things come with hard work and in time. The thing about any type of government work, there is always a lot of red tape to get through before you can actually start getting the sweat rolling off your brow....

We beat East 6 -3 and we beat West today 5 - 0 which makes us 14-14 for the year. We play one more game on Saturday at 1 p.m. before district tournament. If we turn the games around where we only lost by 2 runs or less we are 22-6, but shoulda woulda coulda doesn't matter, what does matter is that they do have the talent to turn some heads next week and the weeks to come, if they come to play. I am very proud of this team, the coaches and the girls, all have come together as one and are having fun again. That is what it really is all about, having fun playing the game they love.

Give it some time fellas, they have only been hitting it hard since coach has been here and they have already made big gains... It will happen...

Okay, we go to East Carter today. Should be a good game, if the rain holds off.

It would be great to have all of our athletes play all of our sports, GCHS would be winning in every sport if this were to happen.

No, he is not, which is a big disappointment to me, he told me he was going to, now he said he is going to go straight basketball, which in my opinion is a mistake on his part, he could go D1 in football if he started working this summer. Huge loss on his part...

Play East on the 11th away, Fairview at home on the 12th, West at home on the 14th and East at home on the 16th. We think Senior night is Fairview, that was if it rains we have two more dates to make it up. I am proud of these girls no matter the outcome but District Tourney is where it really all begins, the rest is just practice...

You got to beat the best eventually to get to where you want to go and you are so right, the coaching staff has done an excellent job with these ladies this season. The future looks bright at GCHS...

I'm not a Koolaid drinker, I like other cold beverages myself... LOL...

Big Wins tonight, GCHS 9 Rowan 7 first game and GCHS 12 and Rowan 8 second game in a double header. Both games they game from behind in the 5th inning to win. We play like we played tonight we can play with anybody in the region.

Somebody keep me posted, I'm not going to make the game tonight...

Great posts Rambler, it is all about the kids and our community. We have a great community and one we should all be very proud, I look for all 3 teams in Greenup County vying for a state title in the very near years to come, won't that be something. :thumb:

Maybe it was national average per catch.... I will get the facts from coach again, I probably just forgot, me and my old age is catching up to me.. LOL, but 13 TD's out of 25 catches, that is strong...

We might have a few passes in there, his wide reciever was one of the national leaders in passing yards last year at Pikeville, so there you go...

We are playing Rose Hill and we don't know where yet. Let's have a big crowd to support these ladies where ever it is...
