All this has nothing to do with how good or bad Rowan or Ashland are. Just sounds like RC is getting shortchanged for a very good win over a very good team on a NEUTRAL floor. Anyway, re-match in Morehead on Feb 1st.

Fair enough...I'm sure the lady Vikings like their chances as well, b/c defense is a constant and that's one thing they do better than anyone else. And, they won't have inflated their record on the lower ranked teams in the 16th region, so IMO they will be better prepared come tourney time. The Lady Vikes still have Pike Central, Montgomery Co., and North Hardin left.

Didn't say that at all. it just sounded like some folks were trying to downplay a very good win for RC and sct like Ashland would have definitely beaten Mason Co. with Ward...As far as raceland goes, they are a very good team. We'll tell a bunch in the next two weeks ... RC has Elliott and Russell, and have beaten East by 25 already. Give them a little credit...the Lady Vikes have BY FAR played the best schedule in the 16th.

You talk as if they (Rowan & Mason ) played in November. It was less than 2 weeks ago. After the 1st 4 minutes of that basketball game, Rowan was in total control. Ashland, with all due respect, does not have a signature win this year and if they had played Rowan's schedule, I would venture to say they would not be 9-2 or whatever they are (and #1 in the region according to the ADI). I also don't believe Ward would have been the difference against Mason. Just an opinion.

While I haven't seen every game, I have seen several and in the ones I've seen he is averaging about 20 minutes per game. I talked to some of the players at a holiday tourney and they seemed puzzled as to why barker wasn't playing 28 minutes per night.

I'm glad to hear Barker had 18 points. I guess someone finally wised up and realized he needed to be in the game. If I'm guessing he probably led in rebounds also. If I were the coach the boy would never come out of the game unless he begged.

Well, lets talk about this! Rowan County beat Mason, the "3" had almost the same stats. At one time in the 4th quarter Rowan had them down by around 15 points. So the way I see it is Ashland has to get through the LADY VIKINGS first before they can rematch at State!! Mason Co. is a GREAT team I watched them play on Saturday.

RC did not come to play in this one. Gray went 2-19 from the field and SC still won. The difference was at the FT line...RC was 10-13, SC 26-34. SC was far more aggressive and RC was flat. Congrats to SC.

It was 8-0 Mason early...RC got it to 20-16 at the end of one and led by 9 at the half. RC got it to around 13 and kept it there until they missed some free throws late. Cline was great; she had 27. Chambers had 14. For RC, Brockman had 17, Barr had 15, Riddle 13, Martin 10, and Spurlock 10. RC went 3-1 and had noone make all tourney.

Final.

And the Lady Vikings will match up well against Mason Co. since they don't have a 6'1" post player!
