Jesuit is the class of 6A Region 3. According to the FHSAA playoff predictions, they will get Sumner in the first round, since the regions first seed gets the eighth seed. Seeds 5 thru 8 are at large seeds determined by RPI. IMO, all of the at large seeds are much better than the probable winner of district 9, Countryside. Countryside, the 4th seed, is projected to get the 5 seed Northeast, who they lost to at home 42-7 a few weeks ago. Countryside is currently 4-4 and 10th in the region in RPI. 3 of those 4 wins are over district 9 opponents. While I think district winners should be in the playoff, I feel they should seed position by RPI. That way Jesuit would get Countryside in the first round. I follow all of the schools in the Tampa Bay area, much like I follow Kentucky football. However, there are schools that mean something to me at some level, just as there are in Kentucky. Mrs. S graduated from Clearwater. My kids graduated from Largo and Gaither. My granddaughter will be going to Apopka. I live right smack between Sickles and Alonso. I've been to several games at each school and have close friends who have or have had kids go to each. My grandson plays at Countryside, so I follow that school and all of the schools in Countryside's district, River Ridge, Sunlake, Fivay, and Tampa Freedom. I started following Sarasota Riverview 4 years ago, because eaglefan74's kid went there.

The schools can't even stop rushing the field. The SEC needed to send a clear and decisive message. They did not and people like to repeat bad behavior for some reason. This will happen again. The only clear and decisive message would have been at least a million dollar fine and forfeiture of all remaining home games.

Garmisch - A ski resort in Bavaria. Great place to go in the summer. Dad would take us there for vacation, when we lived there. The water in the lake is ice cold in July. You can take an arial cable car to the top of the Zugspitze. I haven't been there since I was a kid, but we have friends living in Munich who went there this summer. From their experience and the pictures they posted on FB, it is still the same. Beautiful place.

Thursday night lights in FLA. St. Pete Northeast 42 Countryside 7 For what it is worth, this was a non-district game for Countryside who still leads its district (FL 6A Region 3 District 9). If all holds true, this could be a preview of the first round of the playoffs. Note that Countryside upset Northeast in the first round last year. Largo 22 Boca Ciega 20

That was fun. The better game was on your phone, though. ? Hope to see you Thursday. I haven't seen the recent RPI rankings, but Northeast beat Pinellas Park last Friday night. PP was at #2 in 6A Region 3, Northeast #3. Northeast may jump Jesuit to go to #1. It should be interesting to see if Countryside's single wing works as well against them. I'm thinking not so much. 9/23 Florida Thursday night lights... Palm Harbor University 27 Countryside 10 Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Todd Yoder's kid, Luke ran all over Countryside. He's been averaging over 200 yards a game this year and I'm sure he did that and then some. Picked up 2 more TDs for himself as well.

Countryside 36 River Ridge 28 Down 28-16 at the half, River Ridge running all over them, and after beat downs the last 2 weeks, everything was ripe for "give up", but the Cougars did the opposite. The 2nd half they went to a single wing with RB Jaden Griffin taking direct snaps and Carson Burbee, moving from tight end to fullback, blocking for him, they ran all over the River Ridge. Meanwhile the defense shut them down, including a scoop and score late in the game. That was fun. Other Florida teams I follow...
