  1. "Fins to the left, fins to the right; and you're the only official in sight"!! With sincere apologies to Jimmy Buffett!!
  2. Curious how many "impact players" were on this year's football team from the public high school in Campbell County that went to Catholic grade schools?? Remember it goes both ways!!
  3. Might be a couple teams in Louisville and one in Bowling Green that might take exception to this statement? Great win tonight for the 'Birds and a little revenge for last year's loss. They are the rightful favorite in 5-A and best of luck to them to bring a title home to NKY!!
  4. That's small for bigtime D-1 without monster speed, but with his stats and decision making (81 TD's--4 INT's) he's got to have a collegiate future in 1-AA or below, if not smaller D-1!! Congrats to this kid, these are unbelievable numbers!!
  5. I thought I remembered them consolidating, but this makes their accomplishments all the more impressive. Must have a good committment to athletic success.
  6. Looks like its now 6 of 48, including the 2 largest schools in the state; hardly private school domination??
  7. No disrespect meant to LCC--They're having a great year, and continue on in the playoffs!! In reality though, Highlands is not Greenup, Clay, Whitley, Bourbon, or any other county; and LCC will have their work cut out next weekend? Congrats to them for making the quarters!! As far as the above though, isn't LCC a consolidation of a couple (or 3) schools; and not exactly a start-up program? Taking nothing away from the year they're having, but not fair to programs like Gallatin County and others who made the playoffs, who are true start-up programs.
  8. Travel note to the Letcher County Central fans: Bring some earplugs--The repeated noise of that cannon can harm your hearing!!
  9. I saw an article on NKY.com today about this project.
  10. Good for them, as I think they've hurt themselves with "soft scheduling" in recent years??
  11. Lloyd not exactly a "big school" job, and I'd think the Lloyd job would be less attractive since the reclassification? 2-A was a pretty good situation, especially in NKY with 4 classes, but with Lloyd now having to get past NCC each year, much tougher task? Still a lot of talent out that way, especially if you can get all them all to come out for football!!
  12. Seriously I don't think anyone wants to hear an absurd statement like this either, but as a fan of the HS KIDS, who read this stuff and try to figure out about these supposed conflicts, I'd think some responsibility might be in order? I remember a good deal of hoop's controversy down on the hill in recent years, and don't remember seeing it being "rumored" on this forum, like you're trying to stir the pot? Must be something about that US #27 connection--Don't see that much craziness over our way?
  13. Boone will be tough this year! Who do CovCath, Highlands and the other NKY frontrunners scrimmage and when--Anyone??
  14. Did this Highlands' group field a team in Blacktop this year?
  15. 7th or 8th Grade teams? Wow, it's hard to believe it's already St. Henry Tourney time??
  16. Will Montgomery play a schedule worthy of their school size and potential status; or will they still try to be the best Central KY "A" school not eligible for the All "A"??
  17. Don't have a dog in this fight, and have no clue regarding any kids/coaches conflicts; but I know from watching the Mustangs grow into a NKY power over the last ten years, that if you're afraid to work hard, be pushed to your limit, have someone "get in your grill" when you mess up, etc. BB's not the place for you to ply your hoop's ability. Looking at Brossart's website I find it hard to believe the above statement, as 9 of the top 12 JV scorers and minutes per game guys are back from what I've heard?? Those not returning scored a total of 21 varsity points between them all year, played in very few games and two were the #11 & 12 (out of 12) players on the JV team. While with no one with any meaningful varsity experience is coming back period, obviously PT is up for grabs; but with a pretty good freshman group moving up to sophs, not sure how much PT the 3 juniors not returning (#'s 7, 11, & 12) were going to see?? You certainly may have more insight than I, and I'm not naive enough to think that certain kids don't like certain coaches; but I also know more than one kid afraid of the incoming competition has used the "I don't like Coach XYZ" excuse, to bow out gracefully??
  18. Turkeyfoot always seems to have some good teams although I can never seem to figure out who they play to get their lofty records? Gray MS always seems to consistently have powerhouse teams as well. On the NKY Catholic side, I've heard that St. Joes-Cold Spring will have their usual fine MS teams and St. Mary's has a real good 7th grade team. St.Pius, Blessed Sacrament and IHM usually have good teams as well. Heard the sleeper may be Sts. Peter & Paul, who may have their best team since their heyday about 10 years ago; and may be a serious contender for the Diocesan Tourney? Would be fun to see a school that small contend against the big boys again!!
  19. Weren't a couple of the KBA management/ownership team also on the board of the Kentucky AAU??
