Heard on the Brossart broadcast tonight that St. Henry bested the Mustang' frosh by a point or two. Don't know the score or any details?

WOW--Someone said last night said watch out for Ballard, and they obviously knew their stuff!! Sounds like a great game and that the 11th will be a monster this year!!

No argument, but the fact that it wasn't brought up (which many others had done) showed me that no one on that broadcast was disrespecting St. Pats' effort!! I don't have a horse in the race either, but have great respect for Brossart's program and the efforts their broadcast crew's have put forth to try and give the kids something extra!! To see someone with an obvious agenda trying to start something where nothing existed is wrong; and disrespects the job Mustang & his Crew do game in, game out!!!! Just my opinion!!

Sounds like the Mustangs have a lot to work on from what I heard, but that should come as no surprise when you lose your top eight players, and return no one with ANY varsity experience?? Time will tell as the new kids grow into their new roles and learn to play at the speed of the varsity level!!

The 10th region All "A" will definatedly not be the Bishop Brossart Invitational this year, and I'd have to say St. Pat's is the early favorite!! St. Henry has to be in the mix in the 9th. I think I heard that NCC, Holy Cross and Beechwood are all on one side of the draw, with St. Henry being on the other; which should bode well for the 'Cru!! Holy Cross has to be the favorite at this point?

They never put down St. Pat's team in any way, or belittled their win over St. Henry; even in a game where the visitor was whistled for 26 fouls, fouled out 5 guys and the home team shot 40+ free throws?? Wishful thinking--Maybe?? Hardly disrespectful?? You may want to listen to the tape again??

Little hard on the BB broadcasters aren't you Hero?? Listened to the same broadcast and the only comment I heard was the one where Mustang said that ST. H came in with something to prove after a tough loss to St. Pats, and BB may have been reading their press clippings from the SG game. He then said he HOPED St. Pats may have the same overconfident attitude in the All "A". Hardly a put down against the Saints, but maybe wishful thinking for his team's sake?? I think if you listen to their broadcasts, you'll find them as objective as any of the teams' who air their games? They will call out their team, and seldom blame anything on officials, etc. Mustang in particular has lived through the heyday of St. Pats basketball and often reminisces about the days when they were the kings of the "A". You might want to listen more than once, rather than "knee-jerk" on one comment; or better yet try broadcasting your school's games and see how objective you are??

The injuries on the "D", along with watching the Cowboys make Jason Campbell (who also has no running game like Farve) look like John Elway a couple weeks ago; has me leaning over as well. Something tells me to watch our for GB+, but no stats to back it up. Cowboys should be motavated however--Would you want to have to play in Green Bay in January to go to the Superbowl??

Well said CF!! And before any of the private school naysayers chime in--All of St. Henry's players on that team were Home Grown!!

8th & 9th region officials from what I've seen and heard are notorious for calling ticky-tack fouls, especially hand checks by the guards. BG Assn. officials and most of the rest of the state seem to generally allow more physical play, and many feel the NKY teams are at a disadvantage when traveling due to those differences. You see a lot of that sometimes when the NKY 10th region teams (Pendleton, Campbell, Scott, Silver Grove, Brossart) play their 8th & 9th region brethern. Tough to adjust both ways depending on who's the home team. Agree it needs to be more uniform, but its probably the 8th & 9th as the exception, and the remainder of the state as the rule!!

Didn't see the game but I suspect Brossart's "D" had something to do with holding down SG's totals, as they consistantly are near top of the state's best defensive squads? Agree that the Trains don't have a Cory Pelle type player this year, although his cousin Steven will probably lead them in scoring this year. Don't recall ever seeing ANY SG teams with "ten guys who can shoot the three"??

Reading the update thread it was 19-0, 22-2, 28-5 to end the 1st Qtr. and then 46-11 at the half!! How good is Scott Co., even without Mackey to dominate a game like this against a quality opponent??

Who else looked good for the Mustangs? I heard the "guards" and defense looked solid; and that there were quite a few curious coaches and scouts in the Mustang corral tonight?

I hate being right, especially with a score like this; but I was afraid Gallatin was stepping into uncharted territory!!
