  1. I have a funny feeling about this Manual St X game. I can't reason or rationalize it, yet I feel like Manual may have a shot at this one. Maybe the stars will align, the defense will play disciplined, and the offense will make enough plays to get our most elusive win of the decade. Go Rams Beat X
  2. Petrino said prior to the game that he wanted to establish the run and get the safeties focused on run D before going up top, the run game just never developed quite the way we wanted, a credit to thier defense.
  3. While not as impressive as some other wins have been. I'll take a road win over and undefeated BCS team anyday. The opening drive looked like classic UofL football and smelled as if a blowout was going to occur. After that drive UofL sputtered as though they had lost thier focus, blockers missed blockers RB's danced in holes, recievers dropped balls in a way I don't usually see UofL perform. Maybe the offense felt the game was over after the first drive or possibly KState has very legitimate defense, but there was clearly a drop in performance after that first drive. I thought Jackson (I thinhk it was him) had the most amazing one handed int early in the game but the the officials called it incomplete as though it hit the ground, it was never reviewed and the play went on, I think having that INT would also have changed the status of the game early.
  4. It should be the best atmosphere this Friday, and afterwards you have a varitiey of nice establishments to stop at after the game.
  5. Of course I want Manual to win but I wouldn't be schocked if this game isn't as competitive as the last few had been.
  6. These are possible reasons, I'm not "in the know" in any case. #1. Lack of space for the radio crew. Many stadiums barely have sufficient space for thier camera crews and coaches. Bringing in the radio squad just enlarges that problem. I bet many programs are peveed that the opponets radio broadcast forces them to relocate at thier home stadium. #2. Baised radio broadcast. It is extremely frustrating to listen to these broadcast when your team is playing against them. The crews are heavy homers and come off disrespectful at times. Respect is a major issue for every program, and should never be underestimated. #3. Possible retaliation. As much as we all like to think our programs are run with the highest degree of class, coaches often play catty games with each other. Like not trading game tapes....
  7. I'm a Manual guy and I want them to be successful, but how are they recieving votes?????
  8. Manual had a big task in front of them last week, one that I wouldn't make to much of. They are very young and this game may be a better indicator of where they really are.
  9. Manual's schedule is brutal and they did graduate a stellar and experianced senior class last season. Brentwood Academy, St X, Male, and Trinity will all be excepionally difficult opponets. Add in traditonal western power Warren Central, district rivals Butler and PRP plus a consistantly strong Meade Co and this young Crimson team may have a hard time winning more than two games this season. However last time Manual graduated a strong class, they had there best season in a long time. If Manual makes a lot of noise this season it will be a suprise.
  10. That's the word I was looking for:thumb:. My concern is what this would do to the St X-Manual rivalry. The schools have played since since both schools had football teams. I know the Male/Manual game will continue, but schedule and circumstance could threaten our series with the Tigers.
  11. The more I look at this deal the more I think it is absolutly genious by Jurich. Lets exclude Petrino from the situation all together. This deal says that Louisville is VERY serious about college football. Even if Petrino should bust and we have to buy him out (which won't happen), UofL is now at a level that all coaches will listen to offers. It is highly unlikely that we will go from 2.5 mill a year to another 500,000 a year coach. Paying out that kind of money puts us in the search for the very best.
  12. I think this is the biggest issue, the recruiting should be a lot easier without hving to deal with all the speculation. This is a great move by UofL, and I'm happy.:ylsuper:
  13. Early is always the best time to X, as they reload every year and have on occasion shot a dud or two early on. I expect St X to win, but a loss would not be earthshattering nor would it eliminate them from being a 4A champion contender.
  14. I 100% agree that they should change thier defense. However, they've done it before with that D, so its hard to say they must change it.
  15. Male Beaumont is for real, should the rest of the team mature accordingly, I can see him taking them all the way.
  16. I'm curious, who in Jefferson Co does this? I know it was illegal for me to work out with Manual when I was an eight grader, and that was after the season ended.
  17. I don't know who you are confusing me with. I've never said X or T has the best (in collective terms) athletes, because they don't. They have more experianced players than anyone else, but that is a totally different story.
  18. Niether X or T is ever loaded with D-1 talent. If they recruited Louisville, the way many people like to claim, than they would have many more than they do.
  19. Depends on who you ask. I don't think any public school cares one bit about Desales, CAL, Holy Cross, or KCD. There is however a fear of the enormity of X and T and the possibility that may build themselves to a level that public schools can not realistically compete with. IF these schools were really pulling the best talents out of all of Jefferson County, this would in fact be the case. Notice I said IF, because the reality is that, with a few exceptions, niether of these schools are exceptionally athletic as would be the case if they were recruiting like so many love to say. Simply look at the D-1 prospects out of these schools and I feel that will make my case. I think on the private school side there are many who don't have a great deal of respect for the public schools. That doesn't help the relations either.
  20. I just emailed this to a buddy of mine who is a Male grad and a big Bears fan, he'll get a kick out of it for sure. Great pick up H.
  21. 1. I'd be interested to see how the 16 school classes are divided in terms of districts, if they even have districts, and what playoff format they institute with only 16 teams. 2. Would they allow schools to move up? I think some schools might prefer to.
  22. This is more fun than Candy Land:D You say Manual's offense is outdated, yet it was one of the most productive offenses in 4A. You say PLD has proven themselves to be a better program, yet in the only head to head (junior led) Manual blew them out. You say the big dogs respect PLD cause you like to play anyone, yet last time you were scheduled to play a "big dog" you ran with your tails between your legs. You say Manual cries about thier competiton, yet Manual is the only school in 4A that chooses to play all members of the big three, as well as region 1 power Warren Central. Please show me at which point I've been exposed?
  23. Well, we um... beat you. P.S. Why did PLD cancel the Male matchup for last season if they look forward to playing everyone?
  24. Your right we've done nothing but beat PLD 41-21.:dancingpa We still sing songs and tell tales of legend on that fateful day where our boys traveled to Danville and dispatched the mighty black and red bulldogs of Lexington. Don't kid yourself the truth, unfair and arrogant as it might be, is that Louisville schools don't respect Lexington schools that much. If you like playing Trinity so much, why don't you schedule them every year like Manual does? BTW Lighten up:D
