Montgomery is for real. But this was an upset. Gooch is not a self promoter. He is a team guy. For what he has done at Montgomery is a short time, he should be given strong consideration for Coach of the Year.

Lets talk defense. Were the Indians tough or what? Its hard to even remember all the big plays, but the defensive ends were awesome, the tackle kept the linebackers free, the LB's had pass coverage most of the night, but came up on runs nicely...and the DB's were disciplined and tough. Good job to the entire defensive unit. They held a well known and respected passing team to under 50 yards in the air.

I think Curtis and his O-line are willing to smash mouth with anybody. MC's defense will be as tough as ever. If MC avoids mental breakdowns they will win. The Indians will play with heart and focus. I think the team sold out against Woodford and now it is who wants it more. JC knows the score was 7-6 at half and the Indians had numerous turnovers.

MC played harder all night. Great team effort. Defense was outstanding. Offensive played well also. MC converted 3 FG's. Curtis ran hard all night, particularly in the 4th quarter when the Indians were protecting a 9-7 lead and needed to protect the ball. Frosh QB Dotson was very poised all night and had great accuracy in the second half. Entire defense was outstanding, big second half interceptions by Tyler Murphy and Zach Hood. Great coaching job by MC staff.

How are current field conditions at WC? How will the field handle rain, if it rains?

How has JC's prep gone this week? Its hard to believe they could maintain the proper focus right now.

I hear the ineligible players dad played with Matney at Belfry. Can anyone confirm this.

I agree, one player wont make or break a team. Woodford should be fine. I think they will be the team to beat in this district. Montgomery has had some player changes as well, in key positions.

I'm sure Magoffin dreads this one as bad as Belfry. This would be beyond an upset.

I think Hazard is for real. I think Louisville Central is a wild card. If they come to play, they could be a handful, but if they don't bring it they are little more than average.

The game against Bryan Station was closer than the score reflects. Bryan Station is also a much better team than earlier in the year. JC could be looking at ending their year unless the screeching eagle and atmosphere intimidates them. JC needs to take this one seriously.

Russell and Mason will be a great game.

This district is wide open. Any team could win this one. JC and Woodford both lost in the last week. You never know the effect of losing going into the playoffs. I look for two competitive rounds from this district.

Jude, I had the call on this one right from my first post last week. You made some good arguments and you know the program, but this was only going to JC if Belfry did what Louisville Central did against them. I must say JC is a solid program and once they work on some finer points, such as special teams, they will be tough to handle.

For anyone in attendance....the officiating was terrible.

Special teams will get you beat in the playoffs. I can't see special teams getting any better for them at this point.....
