OK, then you aren't going to get an answer. Although, your guess of around 29 is reasonable for about any team. Maybe a little high for some, low for others. The problem with your question is the definition of "valuable minutes". Perhaps you want to know how many players actually played in the game.

Good point. I said EKU over WKU due to location only. The football finals are well suited for Louisville. However, if UK goes to field turf it would be awesome. As for the crowd, so what if 20,000 packed into EKU and onto the hill, etc....it would be exciting. I like what GA does. They play the semi's in the Georgia Dome and then move the finals back to the high school fields. Pretty exciting two/three days of football. You get more games and more fans on the big field and then the championship is played in more familiar grounds.

The current is all that matters. After the banquets it will be on to next year. Who the best? That is for the parents and former players to worry about. The only thing that matters is what is on the field today. The past is very important as far as tradition goes, but tradition doesn't include crowning a best ever team.

True, but PT in the semis, did seem play with coverages in mind. Many times LC brought six people...I doubt many teams LO had faced had that much confidence in their rush...then again speed played a factor.

Belfry's turnovers were deal killers. They were at very big moments and critical moments.

LO team gave their community a great ride. My guess is LC put together some pass coverages, it appeared they played man on one side and zone on the other on several occassions. If LO had every developed a running game, the passing game would have been even more effective. I don't think you can a state championship being a passing team only. Interesting, LC really put the pressure on him. I would say other teams could have put pressure on them as well. Teams get so caught up in the coverages they forget about the pressure, not coach Letton. LO probably was very satisfied with just getting there....like most first time programs.

I agree. the interference call was terrible.

This happens every game. 4th down with 5 and under and you can bet the O is going to try and draw the D offsides. This goes for the KHSAA, NCAA and NFL. Somebody is this thread has suggested drawing the defensive offisde be removed from the game......what? Long snap counts, changes in the cadence, sending players in motion....all this is nothing new....what is new....an official wanting to be part of the game.

I don't mind going for the win, however, I thought the choice would have been to pound it with Hayden. Then if you don't make it they have 99 1/2 yards to go. But a FG is probably the logical the call. Great coaches have to make the tough calls and Rains will stick with the decision and feel good about it.

It was a hard played game. Belfry played hard as well. BHS made mental mistakes that will get you beat in championship football. With 4 minutes to go, Belfry is clearly driving the ball and it looked like they were going to punch it in. LC player penetrates and knocks the ball loose from the QB and LC recovers. Then LC breaks the big play and they seal the game. I think the last 11 seconds of the first half sealed Belfry's fate, that was a huge play. LC wasn't going to beat Belfry driving up and down the field. They got a couple of big break away runs and crazy play and the end of the second qtr and they get the W and the trophy. With exception of the play just before the half, all the other turnovers for both teams were reasonable. Players were hitting hard forcing fumbles and BHS particularly has some great pass coverage. I will add this LC team was much different than the JC game I had seen earlier. Particularly #6 and #24, I don't even remember seeing them make a play and last night they were all over the place. #24 on defense was very impressive. I don't want to take anything away from LC but Belfry did not play their best or most disciplined game last night.

I am aware of the situation at NewCath, (haven't seen it, but heard) maybe he stayed becuase he felt appreciated and just maybe....he was happy and he obviously has had his share of the NKY athletes over the years.

College doesn't always mean more money or better facilities. There are many high schools with better facilities than a lot of college jobs. Why do coaches stay as asst coaches for 20 years. Because being an assistant at many schools is better than being a head coach.

No, I don't think that. I don't understand why the thread was started. You probably agree with me, there are many coaches just like Bob Schneider, some win games, some don't.

This thread shoud be titled "Git-R-done". Too bad all the other coaches are just sitting around hoping for success.

I wish I had seen the Central that you guys have. I am just being honest. It was one of the most disorganized, lackluster performances I have seen in a long time. I realize its only one game. They obviously have the ability to play the game. They would not be in the championship otherwise. Obviously, the game I saw wasn't their best. I think many are impressed by their showing at Highlands and X, I am only saying there is some really bad football out there to compare as well. If you want to compare the good, compare the bad too. This Belfry team hasn't shown a real weakness yet, Friday may be the day they do. Like I said, good thing we don't vote on this.

Belfry does a quicker line than LC. I have seen them both.
