I hear you there! It is bad for the kids that work hard to be a good team, then get punished by playing a good team in the first round. If I was pridicted to make it to Regionals, I would be licking my chops waiting for Belleuvue/Dayton/Newport.......

Thanks! That does stink that Highlands and NCC play the first night..... nothing against the other schools in that District. But they aren't as good as Highlands or NCC...... why don't they seed?

Excuse my ignorance, but which teams are in the 36th? I picked up that Bellevue, Highlands, and NCC.....who else? I guess they don't seed either?

All stats are subjective. That is why when you see teams with horrible records but have players in the top of the statistical categories, it makes you wonder what is going on.....:sssh: I have seen 3 different people keep stats on the same game and none of them match up. Steals can be deceiving, rebounds aren't always just what you grab in the paint, and of course assists (some people give an assist to whoever passes the ball to the scorer, even if it is the in bounds pass from the opposite end of the floor). But what about turnovers? People always error on the low side there. Like a loose ball that ends up being a jump ball (even though it isn't called that anymore). It is a turnover if it goes the other way. An airball free throw is a turnover. So all stats are subjective.....points are the only one it is hard to dispute....

IF??? Dixie pretty much has a bye. With Ludlow playing on their home court, I doubt they lose to Villa. However, in the back of my mind I keep hearing: "it is hard to beat a team 3 times in the same season"....... But yeah, "if" they end up playing together, look for Ludlow to pound it inside......or at least they should IMO (their coaches seem smart enough to know where their bread and butter is....)

Popularity contest a lot of times..... some coaches will vote friends higher than others, people they don't like lower, or people on their schedule higher to make them look good. It is a ethical problem for some coaches...... NOT ALL, but human nature is human nature......it is subjective and totally opinion

On Ludlow's floor, playing for a District banner, Ludlow could win the whole thing..... Who was in the Championship game last year?

I think Villa has the better chance. They lost to Ludlow by 13 and 7. Lloyd has lost to both Ludlow and Dixie by 30. Their best hope was to draw Villa because they lost by 3 to them. So I will go with Villa as the best chance, but as I stated before, I don't think there will be an upset. Especially if the game is at Ludlow!!! I am looking forward to Dixie vs Ludlow (6 point game first time).....

I know they didn't seed for the tournament, but didn't it pretty much work out that way for the girls side? Dixie (3-0) Ludlow (2-1) Villa (1-2) Lloyd (0-3)

I agree. Villa isn't a gimme for Ludlow, but a shouldbe..... Lloyd looks like they have a few kids that can play, but are the victim of a new coach at the beginning of the year, then a switch in head coaches half way thru the year (Tom Corman who went to Holy Cross in the late 70's. I used to play ball with him MANY moons ago!). Stinks for the kids, but they have won 8 games this year and last year they were supposed to have studs and won 12. So the new guy must be doing something right......

I know we have discussed this on other threads, but IMO, a blind draw stinks for kids that work hard to have a good season! Then why play teams in your district in the regular season if it means nothing. But that is just my opinion... I don't think Lloyd will put up much of a fight. There was a typo on the KHSAA website.... the real score was 83 (not 53) to 42 They seem to be playing hard for their new coach that took over midseason, but I would anticipate a score like Highlands beat them.....PLUS it is Senior Night (triple doubles all around).....

I was talking to one of the coaches in the 34th and I found something interesting. The boys and girls teams have to play the same schools in the districts? Is that why they don't seed?

that would be more like it....the scoreboard on the KHSAA website says 53-42......I don't know much about Lloyd, but I would have been shocked if it was that close........ Thanks for the correction!!!
