I agree that the Juggs D is their strong suit this year and is what will keep them in this game, IF their offense can keep them from falling to far behind. I think it will be both passing and running effectively that will give them the chance of winning. When they start relying and are successful in only one facet of the game, the opposing defense pounces. NCC is a great adjustment team, they can lose a half and still come out with a win. The Juggs offense needs to be able to move the ball first half and then continue to move after the Breds adjust if they want to come out on top. Keys to victory Friday. 1. Limit mistakes and be positive in the turnover margin. 2. No missed opportunities. Leave no points off the board. Anything can happen on a Friday night. That is why the games are played.

After reading the article and talking to a few people it still seems like gving up big plays on D, special teams blunders and making second half adjustments are all Achilles heels for the Juggs. They have got to limit their mistakes if they ever want to win the big games. Clearly they have the talent, and come out strong but brain lapses cannot continue to happen if they hope to compete for a district title.

But Conner came back before Fann went out right?

So what happen to the Juggs? Sounds like they came out swinging, but did that wake Conner or could Lloyd just not keep things up?

Because they aren't sound on special teams. Watch the elite schools at any level/class, Beechwood, NCC, Highlands etc. Their special teams are all playing at the same level as their O/D. You will not find any glaring weak spots in any of the 3 phases of the game. That is the difference between being a yearly competitor, contender or the defender (champion).

1) I never said the young man was anything. I do not know the young man nor his parents. I did not imply anything about the young mans character, nor would I. (When I say kicking game, I am not specifically calling out the field goal kicker. I am talking about all special teams.) 2) When a team doesn't even attempt extra points in games, that means they know it is a serious weak spot. So normally when you have a facet of your game that is that lacking you would be practicing that exclusively. 3) Out of all of those issues, to me the easiest to fix is the extra points/kicking. That's just leaving easy points off the board.

Main thing I am getting at here is a lot of high schools do not put enough work into their special teams/ kicking game. Especially the smaller schools and this can be contributed to several reasons. IMO if a school wants to make that push from good to great, working on their special teams play can go along way.

KHSAA's stats say he missed a few. BUT you do have a point. I did forgot about Mr. Guitierez. With that being sad, since Sergio there has not been a stable kicking game. Fair enough statement?

These aren't some complex coaching tips, that always make sense the day after the game. These are basic game plan fundamentals.

This has been Lloyd Achilles heel for at least 3-4 years now. I seriously don't understand how they still do not have a kicking game. Especially when it has came back to bite them so many times before in the past. Go get your selves a kicker or at the very least try and develop one. It doesn't matter if you have to have a week full of tryouts for every Tom, Richard, Harry, Rachael, and Samantha in the school. If you want to win the big/close game you CAN NOT leave points off the board.

I was really hoping to see Lloyd finally snap the streak against Beechwood. I dont believe in moral victories, but I really want to take something positive away from this on account of the score being close, but I just cant. Home field advantage is huge (I know some disagree) so the Tigers had an advantage there. Wet conditions hinder both teams so thats a draw. Lloyd had the size advantage and expierance, so I'm kinda stunned. This is not news I wanted as I pack leaving my vacation.

I knew the Juggs would be favored in this one but would not have guessed this score. This matchup tends to bring out the best in both teams, but obviously not this time. Does anyone have any stats or can break down the game?

I was simply just inquiring, not trying to put words in your mouth. No harm no foul was meant. I understand that there is a level of human error no matter what. And you are correct in saying that penalty was strictly a judgment call. BUT the enforcing of that rule is not a judgement call. It is clear cut that if you call that penalty it is to be enforced from the new line to gain. Now to answer your question No I would not. I could not care less if it was a freshman 5th quarter or the state championship game. Officials are licensed and expect to know the rules, especially the common ones like how to spot an unsportsmanlike penalty. Now no crew will be perfect and calls will be blown no matter what. Should they? Theoretically no but guess what, it happens and people/fans won't be happy. Now I'm not seeing anything being done to change that but I'm not super close to those situations anymore.

I have this funny feeling that this was a blown call that happen against the birds this year, no? What game was it?
