We got a drop in price today. $2.79 in Wilder KY

There is some great leaf viewing in the fall. You’ll be a little early for that though. Sounds like a great trip.
-
I didn’t see it posted, but the Reds turned Florio into the 17th rated prospect in their farm system. Nice flip for a pitcher no one wanted.

They can use a off day today and I'm sure they can really use the All-star break. They are getting used so much they need a collective break. Starters are going to have to go longer than 5 innings or they'll be spent for sure. Since their last off day on June 18th here are the starters innings. 9 of 16 games they haven't gotten to the 6th.
Romano 5.0, 5.0, 5.0 7.0
DeSclafani 5.1, 6.1, 6.1
Castillo 6.2, 4.0, 5.2
Harvey 5.2 (rain delay), 6.2, 6.0
Mahle 5.2, 5.0, 6.0
Just looking at this, hasn’t the starters gotten into the 6th in 11 of 16? Or did you mean thru the 6th?

Greene's last 10 starts
2.31 ERA 50.2 IP 39 H 9 BB 59 SO
He was named to the future all star game today.

Picked out a REALLY nice watermelon last night at the grocery out of one of the big boxes they have sitting out on pallets. It's cut up and sitting in the bottom of the fridge getting nice and cold for tomorrow. It's super sweet.
I went for one of the watermelons with seeds. I'm yet to have a seedless watermelon that tastes as good as the ones with seeds.
I agree, the watermelons with the seeds taste better. But I always sacrifice the taste for convenience.
I hate cutting watermelon though. My favorite was always pineapple but I wouldn't buy them because I hate cutting them also. Then, I bought a pineapple corer and it changed my life. I wish they had something like that for watermelon.

If it matters to anyone, Tucker Barnhardt also had the green light on the 3-0 pitch the bat before Joey Votto.

This is good no doubt but you just have to know Baseball 101 or IQ that you don't swing on a 3-0 count, with bases loaded and tying run on third. Take a pitch in that situation is taught at every level especially after throwing that many balls in a row. Votto's is such a great hitter that he can hit on a 3-1 count just as good. If Votto would have hit a Grand Slam, I would have been happy, but it was bad Baseball.
Ugh........................

Still fun to watch. Even with the drama. And it’s nice to see other teams make mistakes. I think we get blinded watching the Reds every day, but all teams make stupid mistakes every now and then.
-
Reds are fun to watch again. The heat makes it hard to go to a game for me, though.

Don't worry, Kentucky gives you something at the front door while taking it right back as you go out the back door. New taxes in effect starting July 1 on........
» Labor and services for certain repair, installation and maintenance of personal property, such as your automobile
» Pollution control facilities
» Landscaping services
» Janitorial services
» Pet care veterinarian services (small animals)
» Pet grooming and boarding services, except veterinary services
» Fitness and recreational sports centers
» Industrial and laundry services (uniforms)
» Golf courses and country clubs
» Limousine services
» Dry cleaning and laundry services, except coin-operated
» Linen supply such as bed linens, gowns, diapers and towels, excluding charitable hospitals.
» Diet and weight reducing centers (non-medical)
» Overnight trailer campgrounds
» Other personal care services
» Bowling centers
» Extended warranties
Well the good news is, of those you have listed, I do not use any of those services except overnight trailer campground a few times a year. But I do use gas weekly in a 26 gallon tank getting 10 mpg so I will benefit greatly.

For those of you in N. Ky., Sunday will be a good day for gas prices. The reformulated gas requirement ends on Sunday July 1. You should see a drop of about .20 a gallon Sunday or soon after. N. Ky. prices then should be in line with what you see in Cincinnati.
Did they forget to roll this back? I didn't see any decrease at all.

One of the kids forgot their shoes, so he made the whole group go without shoes.
If true, I hope that guy got fired and the school district sued, because that makes no sense.

A few other players selected to the Eastern League All Star Game and their respective batting averages:
Will Castro .260
Will Craig .254
Josh Ockimey .252
Trey Amburgey .238
Taylor Gushue .229
Martin Cervenka .224
Tebow's selection doesn't seem nearly as egregious when taken in this context.
Now I’m curious. How many players are selected and who selects the players. What is criteria (like so many per team, etc)? Does anyone know?
Edit: I thought the AA all star game was for all of AA. I didn’t realize it was just for one league. I found some of my answers. This is the all star team from the 6 teams in the Eastern Leaugue. Hence, why you have some of the above players. Still a great accomplishment.

His pitching is lackluster, maybe he can replace hamilton in the outfield.
Yeah, I hate pitchers that have an under 2 ERA. Where’s Tanner Rainey and Jumbo when you need them.
-
Did you build in a subdivision or get some land and use your own builder?
-
Last 13 games, Votto is like 9-42, with 1 HR and 8 RBI. His HR and 3 RBI came against Cubs Catcher. I believe he only has 1 HR since May 13th.
And still batting .297 and a NL best OBP of .429 and the Reds are 9-4 in those games. Crazy to think about, when he starts to heat up,like he always does in the second half.

Can someone tell me why Phillips is out of baseball?
Because he’s 37 years old and his best playing days are long behind him.
-
I wouldn’t say he is MLB caliber but he has improved this year. I saw he was just named to the all star team and wouldn’t be shocked to see him called up in September to fill some seats. But I saw this tweet showing his improvement:
April .653 OPS - 44.3 K%
May .731 OPS - 37.5 K%
June .812 OPS - 30.0 K%

@EricThames loves playing the Reds.
He now has 13 HR and 24 RBI in 20 career games against them. https://twitter.com/MLBStatoftheDay/status/112589877854321/video/1
And Thames is 3-3 with 3 homeruns against Garrett.

Winker NEEDS TO PLAY EVERDAY!
I was just coming to post what happened to Winker being the odd man out. I am glad that didn’t last.
-
Just saw that Cozart is only hitting .219 and now needing shoulder surgery. Reds get any credit for not keeping him?And letting Choo walk.
Also Frazier and Bruce. I did see Brandon Phillips sign a minor league deal with Boston today.
-
I wish the Reds would have gotten off to a better start. They have been fun to watch the last 2 months.
Tim Tebow to Try Professional Baseball
in Major League Baseball (MLB)

Yep....and this why he may be called up. Ticket prices and demand spike after Tebow announced to all star game.
Tim Tebow Drives Huge Spike in Class AA All-Star Game Ticket Prices
With news of Tebow's selection, the cost to attend the Eastern League All-Star Game, slated for July 11 at Arm & Hammer Park, in Trenton, N.J. skyrocketed.
On Vivid Seats, the cheapest ticket rose to $115, nearly six times the $20 tickets available prior to the announcement that Tebow was an all-star.
