  1. Scott County just beat Moeller on their field. May be hard to judge against playing them.

That’s what I’m saying. It’s hard to judge Highlands. They are doing what they are supposed to be doing. They are beating so-so teams by a good margin and got smashed by a good team.

  2. On the ratings question, what show had increased ratings from the previous year in the past couple or three years? Is there any show whose ratings have gone up?

Isn’t the NBA ratings going up each year?

Edit: so I looked it up. NFL was down 9% last year and NBA was up 8%. NBA was slightly down the year before.

  3. I think Bell holding out in a way might help the Steelers. The players are obviously not happy with Bell and will go all out to show Bell they can win without him. Any chance that the Steelers would overlook the Browns this week are now gone. They will be a focused football team IMO.

There must be more to it than just the holding out. I have never heard a locker room talk bad publicly about a player holding out. There has been multiple players from the Steelers call him out.

  4. Opening Thursday night has declined each of the last 5 years. I’m sure the 45 minute delay didn’t help. I’m also guessing it was still the most watched program last night.

One other thing that might affect ratings, is I don’t think any of the streaming options to watch the game are counted in ratings. Those outlets are rapidly growing.

Even though ratings dropped again pretty dramatically, they were still higher than the highest rated NBA finals this year. They were also double the three other major networks prime time shows combined last night.

It will be Interesting how rest of the year goes. I still know many people who have given up the nfl.

  5. If it was anywhere here in the midwest, I'd be all over a trailer. But to pull something 6,000 miles through the Rockies and back...

I pulled a hybrid trailer to South Dakota, Grand Tetons and Yellowstone about 8 years ago. Pulled it with a 98 F150 5.3L. The trip was amazing. I didn’t have any issues, but I did wish I had a bigger truck fo those long climbs.

  6. Scooter 137 ABs (4th most in NL) with RISP - 59 RBI .321/.368/.504

Suarez 121 ABs (11th most in NL) with RISP - 61 RBI .322./.439/.554

Peraza 111 ABs (20th most in NL with RISP - 37 RBI .261/.317/.342

Barnhart 110 ABs (24th most in NL) with RISP - 25 RBI .209/.328/.245

Votto 108 ABs (31st most in NL) with RISP - 48 RBI .333/.472/.509

What more do you want him to do?

Out of all NL hitters with 100 ABs with RISP he's tied 8th in Average, 3rd in OBP, 23rd in SLG. His power is down a little compared to years past but some of us are acting like he's a role player.

And the reference to Duvall earlier, he still has more bats with RISP than Votto and has been gone over a month.

  7. I keep money in the market, some of which has been invested for over 20 years and has produced a nice return. I also used to be very involved in stock photography. I now only add a few images a year, but still cash in for a few hundred $’s every year.

Haha....after you were talking about the market, I was trying to figure out what stock photography is? I was trying to figure out how you took pictures of stock. Lol

  8. Another good case to study this law.

If I walk up to you and say “I’m going to kill you” but make no attempt to do so is that enough?

A good question in general if that's all that happened. In this case, there was more to it. He was forced to stop by the victim and had an object in his hand (turns out it was a cell phone) telling the Uber driver he had a gun and was going to shoot him.

I wonder what happens in this case if there wasn't video, because the passenger was no help with information.
