  1. Not to threadjack here and this is probably for another thread but does anybody remember the 1989 battle between the Birds and Pirates. Another classic game!!!!! Does anybody remember how HHS scored in overtime.:D

HHS went first in OT and on 3rd down, Chris Gallichio reversed field and passed to Ken Shields for a TD. HHS then held Belfry in OT. I believe Belfry ran all over HHS that day and in OT, the first play was a run for about 6 yards and then passed 3 straight times. The last one was broken up by Chris Wolfe, former PRP coach, in the endzone.

  2. But to your point, that's why I think the Scott HS job is a perfect one for Coach Weinrich to go after. Build on the momentum and get that valuable head coaching experience. (not to mention bring over the ever-so-important work ethic and prove that all that's missing at all the schools in NKY is hard work. ;) ) After that, if/when Dale decides the hang up the whistle, he'll be ready.

From my understanding, Coach Weinrich has already turned down many head coaching opportunities in past. He is a Highlands product and very happy at Highlands. He probably will be the next HHS coach when the time comes.

  3. You are correct weasel. Chris comes from the cradle of coaches of HHS. He grew up in Fort Thomas and was a senior on the 89 team. He was a teammate of Weinrich and was also coached by Dixie coach Spritzky. And he did wear number 47. He also played at Campbellsville college. Great coach and nice guy, best of luck to him during his early midlife crisis as he puts it.

  4. Is there a problem with this? Certainly doesn't violate any KHSAA rules. Your situation is certainly much different than starters playing JV ball and I hope I don't have to explain why.

No, there is not a problem with this at all. In fact, it was your team Leatherneck, and I would have loved to played on that freshman team. 2 games in a week seems like fun except for the being stiff part.

I don't see a problem with this case as long as both schools agree. It seems to be a measuring stick to see if you are ready for varsity. I guess it would be against KHSAA rules to schedule a scrimmage instead of actually using a JV game for this?

  5. If both schools agree to this beforehand, who cares. It's a team who does not even have a varsity team and would like to gauge how close they are to be competitive.

On this flipside, I can remember a certain Northern Kentucky team not having enough players for a JV team so they brought the freshman up to play offensive for JV and then play their freshman game also. Basically, they played 2 games every week.
