  1. I just double checked, they are prohibited by drivers and riders. More soft targets, probably need a new thread to discuss that though.

Interesting, from this article it states what you said but they haven’t fired him.

Uber driver who shot man is 'classic "stand your ground" case,' sheriff says - CNN

Uber, in a statement, said: "We are saddened by this unfortunate incident and will continue to work with police on their investigation."

The company's policy prohibits drivers and passengers from carrying firearms while using the Uber app to the extent permitted by local law.

Westlake has been suspended from using the app, Uber said. The company said it will evaluate his status after he submits a letter from law enforcement indicating that he is not a suspect or been charged in the shooting, the company said

  2. Not that it matters, but doesn't Uber have a policy against their drivers carrying firearms? Or didn't they at some point?

I’m not sure. Also, not sure in this article, but one of the articles I read said Uber suspended him until he was cleared of any charges. So they must not have that policy or they would have fired him I would think.

  3. And the most recent case in Florida is the reason for “stand your ground”. A man forces Uber driver to stop, gets out of truck and says you know I have a pistol and I am going to shoot you. Uber driver doesn’t give him a chance. It was all caught on the Uber driver’s dash cam. As much as the guy in the original story in this thread needed to be charged, I think this guy did everything right including giving CPR to the victim until EMT arrived.

  4. We went to Wrigley this weekend for a Reds/Cubs game. On the way into town we stopped at Three Floyds in Munster, IN. I've always wanted to go and I'm glad that we did, but I'm not sure its worth a trip back there again. I'm not into the demonic/heavy metal music that they were playing and I already had 75% of what they had on tap. Great food though.

After the game, we found a small brewery about 3/4 a mile from Wrigley called Corridor. Had two New England IPAs and they were fantastic.

On the way home, we stopped at 450 North in Columbus, IN. I can't praise that brewery enough. It's easily in my top 3 of breweries to visit, just wish it was a little closer. They have fantastic pizza and I can't say that I've had a bad beer by them. All together, a solid weekend.

Even had a Schlitz and an Old Style haha!

Now we're talking. I want a full review.

  5. That happens but he broke a KHSAA rule by playing in the event after school started.

I agree, but the implied argument was he should always be in school, and he shouldn’t miss for an elite basketball tournament. Just pointing out that students miss school for a variety of reasons. Now, if playing in a basketball tourney makes him ineligible, so be it.

  6. Good for you. Everyone's path isn't the same. Not to mention, the landscape in college recruiting is vastly different today. Missing school to participate in these events isn't uncommon.

Happens all the time. My daughter missed a week of school in September, her junior year, to compete in a national championship (humble brag) that was not a KHSAA or school sponsored sport. The school gave her their blessing and she made up the work.

  7. Hah most likely. I'm just curious why they even have mayo packets since none of their food comes with mayo on it. Is it there way of saying "this sandwich may be even better with mayo," but we're not going to offer it like that on the menu. Lol.

I think part of what makes Chic Fila so fast to make your order is due to not putting condiments on their sandwich. They’ll give you any condiments you want. The one I go to asks when I order if I want any sauces. It saves time making special orders for people (hold the mayo, put ketchup instead of mayo, etc)

Another fact I found out, which is dumb, they cannot accept anything back thru the window. They give you a wrong drink or wrong order, sorry we can’t take it back. We’ll give you a new one. They won’t even take it to throw away.

  8. At this point, it doesn’t matter. It is what it is. It doesn’t affect me one way or another. Looking at the national coverage on this and people’s responses, 95% of the people are shocked that Ohio State puts winning over integrity and the other 5% are huge Ohio State/Urban supporters.

I don’t have to live with my decision to support a coach who is a proven liar.
