Goodin didn't play against Scott County last year. This is one of those rare occasions where I think one player may be enough to make up that much ground. I'm picking the Cardinals, but I can easily see Goodin going ham and making Scott County sweat it out in the 4Q. He's about as dialed in as you can get right now.

This could be the wildest game we see all year. Both defenses are suspect. The scoreboard operator may need a backup in case the starter needs a breather.

After the top six, it's a revolving door of decent but inconsistent teams. Sometimes all you have to do is win a couple in a row and you'll have a number next to your name. That's life in this six class system.

Emmett Queen has effortless arm strength. There's a throw near the end of this highlight reel where he uncorks a 40+ yard rope with an easy, whip-like motion. Very impressive.

A Tiger tandem has evolved into a triad as Nathan Pabst joins Tyler Fryman and Emmett Queen in terrorizing defenses. Pabst capped a five touchdown night against CovCath with the game winner with :21 on the clock. Queen wins this week's 'William Tell Marksmanship Award' 🎯 for completing 20 of 24 throws against the Colonels, while Fryman snagged a career best thirteen receptions for 129 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. It was a banner night for the Tigers. It's hard enough to sustain two candidates, let alone three. And to be clear, Fryman is the guy. But Queen is steering the ship and Pabst was the best player on the field in the week's biggest game. - Ja'Hyde Brown is on pace to shatter the state record for touchdown receptions in a season after four of his six receptions reached the end zone against Central Hardin. The current standard is 30 by Owensboro Catholic's William Carrico in 2023. It took Carrico fifteen games to reach that total. Brown is on pace to match it by the end of the regular season. - Kade Goodin turned back the tide, overpowering Meade's Green Wave with a second straight eight touchdown performance. He's played at such a high level so far, that his 384 yards of total offense were a hundred yards less than his average coming in. - It took a minute, but Dre'Mail Carothers and O-Cath finally took flight against Bardstown. Carothers finished with 427 yards of total offense and three combined scores. ‼️Milestone‼️ Kasen Brock tore through the Johnson Central defense for 187 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns on ten touches. He's now Pulaski County's all-time career leader in touchdowns. - Zane Johnson threw two touchdown passes and ran for one in limited action as Trinity blew out Male. - Max Johnson threw four touchdown passes for Apollo against Muhlenberg County, giving him eight in his last two games. He's got 20 on the season against a single interception. - Camden Page accounted for four touchdowns as South Warren dominated Christian County. - Mother nature is the only thing that can contain Timmy Emongo, who was limited to just 30 yards on four carries in a weather shortened encounter with Madison Central.

McCracken County 🐎 vs. Murray 🐯 🗞️ | All Gas, No Breaks In The Wild West 🐎 | McCracken's horsepower with the ball hasn't been tamed, not by Tilghman or Mayfield. It's the defense that's let them down in their losses, and almost in a couple of their wins. They allowed 51 ppg in Weeks 1-4. 🐯 | Winners of nineteen of its last twenty, Murray has endured heavy graduation losses to remain among the best in the west and 3A. The Tigers pass the eye test in the trenches, led by national prospect Ryan Walls. ✏️ 📖 | Murray leads the all-time series 3-0. The Tigers survived a fire fight last year in Paducah, 59-56. The two teams combined for over 1,200 yards. Murray averages 50 ppg and McCracken, 45. The local fire department needs to be on high alert.

Benge's forward momentum is not easy to slow, but he was stopped dead in his tracks on that third and goal direct snap. Ashland manned up when it had to most.

He's one of the state's leading rushers and the main cog in the Madisonville machine that's averaged 56 ppg in its four wins. 🦅 | Graves is battle hardened, if nothing else. Through five games, the Eagles have rubbed elbows with four teams ranked in the Top 5 of their respective classes and may represent the top four squads in WKY. ✏️ 📖 | Graves County leads 6-5 since 1998. Madisonville won 23-20 last year after suffocating the Graves offense, holding them to 2 yards per carry and 3/16 passing.

Ridner has run the offense well, especially for a freshman. It's a luxury to have that line in front of him. South's defense will be a stern test for that unit and Ridner.
