March 1, 201214 yr I've been watching the Godfather movies off and on these past few days in the AMC 40th anniversary week, and a little bit of Wikipedia-ing told me that Empire Magazine and www.filmsite.org both had Vito Corleone listed in their top 10 for the greatest movie characters of all time. I personally think I'd take Michael Corleone over Vito...which got me thinking. Who would I choose as my "greatest movie characters of all time"? Key Word: "GREATEST"...not "favorite"! This one could take me a while to think over, but I'm interested to hear some answers from the folks on BGP.
March 1, 201214 yr Author Empire Magazine 10) Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando, The Godfather) 9) Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver, Alien 1-4) 8) Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp, Pirates Of The Caribbean Series) 7) The Dude (Jeff Bridges, The Big Lebowski) 6) Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones Series) 5) Dr. Hannibal Lector (Anthony Hopkins, The Silence Of The Lambs, Hannibal, Red Dragon) 4) Han Solo (Harrison Ford, Star Wars: Episodes 4, 5 & 6) 3) The Joker (Heath Ledger, The Dark Knight) 2) Darth Vader (David Prowse / James Earl Jones, Star Wars: Episodes 4, 5 & 6) 1) Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt, Fight Club) http://www.filmsite.org 10) Gollum (Andy Serkis, Lord Of The Rings Trilogy) 9) Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn, Fast Times At Ridgemont High) 8) Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver, Alien 1-4) 7) Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones Series) 6) Annie Hall (Diane Keaton, Annie Hall) 5) James Bond (Sean Connery, James Bond Series) 4) Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins, Psycho) 3) Scarlett O’Hara (Vivien Leigh, Gone With The Wind) 2) Fred C. Dobbs (Humphrey Bogart, The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre) 1) Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando, The Godfather)
March 1, 201214 yr Jules Winfield, The Man With No Name, and Lucas Jackson need to be on there. Also, to continue my undying support for the movie I'd put Lil Ze on there for sure. I'd add in Forrest Gump, Roger Rabbit, and William Munny which gives me a really good start at a list. As an aside, I love Fight Club but Tyler Durden as #1 is a joke.
March 1, 201214 yr Out of those listed, The Dude, Vito Corleone, James Bond, and Darth Vader are making my list.
March 1, 201214 yr Darth Vader with out a doubt the greatest. How about Freddy Krueger and Jason Vorhees.
March 1, 201214 yr I like Forrest Gump, Indiana Jones, Darth Vader and James Bond in the top 10. I'd probably put Jason Bourne in my top 10. I know you said greatest and not favorite but that is really hard to do.
March 1, 201214 yr I'd have The Bride above Ellen Ripley and wouldn't have to think twice about it. Yes. Yes. I'm with you. Beatrix Kiddo. Probably my favorite Tarantino movie and easily one of my favorites of all time.
March 1, 201214 yr Author I'd have The Bride above Ellen Ripley and wouldn't have to think twice about it. Yes. Yes. I'm with you. Beatrix Kiddo. Probably my favorite Tarantino movie and easily one of my favorites of all time. The Bride?
March 1, 201214 yr The Bride? Beatrix Kiddo aka The Bride. In the first Kill Bill movie she was only known as The Bride and her real name of Beatrix Kiddo was bleeped out.
March 1, 201214 yr Forest Gump - Tom Hanks I think that one has to be on the list. I agree. To not be on either list is a HUGE ommission.
