February 9, 201214 yr Because I feel Harbaugh and the rest of that organization is 100% behind Alex Smith at this point. It wasn't Smith who kept them from playing in the Super Bowl. He was fantastic last season.

He was fantastic last season. True it wasn't Smith but I don't see how you could pass up the opportunity of Peyton over Smith. Smith is a FA anyway. Let him walk and give Peyton that money.
February 9, 201214 yr Interesting thought, what about a QB Swap (not that it will happen) Manning to NO, Brees to Indy? No doubt of the huge financial and fan base (perhaps not needed but still) Manning would have in NO. Brees in Indy would easily help Indy "regroup" their team. Just a thought
February 9, 201214 yr ^^^I would give that about a 1 in a million chance of that happening. THe Brees/Payton combo in NO is way too good to change. Payton likes to run his offense and call the plays and Manning is used to something completely different. Plus Brees would never want to go to Indy after Manning has been there for so long. Also agree with whoever said Ravens and Texans have no chance.

Smith hasn't hit his prime and he'll be cheaper than Peyton's two years. I'd lock up the guy who qb'd my team to the second best record in the NFC and the NFC Championship game. Not the guy who may have two good years left IF healthy.
February 9, 201214 yr I hope the Bengals go after the Chargers Tolbert. There will be quite a few much much more talented RBs than Tolbert available. Why would you want him?
February 9, 201214 yr There will be quite a few much much more talented RBs than Tolbert available. Why would you want him? Because he is good!
February 9, 201214 yr ^So answer my question then....why would you take him when there's many more talented guys available? I mean Benson is "good". That doesn't mean they should try to bring him back.

February 9, 201214 yr ^What about Tolbert's 32 yds/game make him good? He's an average back, if that. Bush is much better. No idea who "Henry" is.
February 9, 201214 yr ^What about Tolbert's 32 yds/game make him good? He's an average back, if that. Bush is much better. No idea who "Henry" is. At best. Plenty of guys you could get much better than him. Heck Benson is better than him.
February 9, 201214 yr He won't be going to Houston or Baltimore. I'd say the possibilities (realistically) are Arizona, Washington, Miami, Tennessee, and a long shot of San Francisco. Handicapping I'd say: 40% Arizona 30% Washington 15% Miami 10% Tennessee 3% San Francisco 2% Somewhere else Talking heads last night said the team that will get him will have 3 things: 1) Really good offensive line 2) A realistic chance to win 3) A coach with the confidence to let Peyton run the offense himself
