Haven't done any research into it whatsoever but to me it seems like a combination of facebook and twitter.

 

Does anyone have more insight on this?

Seriously though, every female I know is absolutely obsessed with it. If I make it a single day without hearing about some "awesome idea I just found on pinterest" less than 5 times I consider it a success.

 

The girlfriend and mom have already told me that whenever I do get married, the entire thing is going to be planned already. :lol:

A secretary at my office just told me the same thing.

 

I signed up my significant other (I really just wanted to check it out). I spent about 10 minutes on it & was horribly confused. And I didn't find anything interesting at all (I'm sure it's out there somewhere).

I'm pretty convinced that Al Gore Invented the internet to do two things.

 

1. Give guys a way to waste time (sports, free porn, fantasy sports, YouTube, etc.).

2. Give girls a way to find things for guys to do or spend money on (Pintrest, wedding blogs, shopping, homemaker blogs, vacation planning, shopping, etc.).

Love it! Love it! Love it! I used to try to write down or remember urls to go back and find stuff I'd found on the internet. Now, all I have to do is "pin it" to one of my boards and I have a handy reference back to the recipe, or article, or whatever it is I want to go back to. I love that I can see what my friends have pinned, because many of them share my interests and find even cooler stuff than I.

 

It's not just for planning weddings, contrary to popular belief. Right now I'm searching for ideas on raised-bed gardening and loving the stuff I'm finding. Recipes...oh yeah! Can't forget the find of the night last night...homemade Samoas.

I only use it to find manly thing to make. I use a saw, hammer, nails, screws, air gun to make said things. That's manly stuff. :lol:
