I had a ten minute "discussion" with my roommate about the universal remote last night. That thing has been kicking his butt for months. My problem is he often turns off the cable box which causes some of my DVR'd programs to not record.

First day in our new apartment sophomore year of college, my roommate comes out of the kitchen with a worried look on his face and says "Guys, we forgot to buy matches to light the stove." It was an electric stove.

Same roommate as above, but when we lived together in Lexington with two other guys. I'm in class and I keep seeing calls from him. As it was one of the frosh courses with 5 million people I stepped outside and called him back to see what was wrong.

Roommate: FKYW, I think the microwave is messed up.

Me: What's wrong with it?

Roommate: It's lightning.

Me: What the hell do you mean it's lightning?

Roomate: Lightning bolts are going towards my bowl of chili.

Me: Is your spoon still in the chili.

Roommate: Yea, why?

Me: Take it out and see if the storm clears up.

My buddy is 27.

MJ: "What are you doing for SB?"

My Friend: "Probably nothing man, I got to work."

MJ: "When did you start working on Sundays?"

My Friend: "Oh, I thought you meant Spring Break."

It's two days from the Super Bowl, and we've been out of college for at least three years. Really? haha!

Sometimes I think so. The funny thing is, he is actually very intelligent, but he does a lot of dumb stuff.

When I first moved to Louisville I lived directly off of Bardstown Rd. My two friends had this discussion, we will call them E & J. E lived in Bardstown at the time.

J: So when you are coming to FKYW's house from Bardstown, how do you get to Bardstown Rd?

E: I generally just head up Louisville Road and wait until it turns into Bardstown Rd.

J: Don't you have to turn somehwere?

E: Nope, it's almost magic how it changes.

...I still don't think J gets it.

Conversation between my friend and his girlfriend regarding the Super Bowl...

J (her): Where's the Super Bowl this year?

N: Indianapolis

J: Yeah, I know that, but what city is it in?

N: Indianapolis is a city sweetie...

J: No, it's a state.

N: No, pretty sure it's a city.

J: Since when?

N: Since it was founded.

J: Oh, well what state is it in then?

N: Think about it for minute...

J: It's not Indiana is it? No, it can't be, that'd be too easy.

I have to admit that I've done my share of dumber things in my life.

Bless her heart.

My mother is fond of telling a story that took place when I was 3 or 4-years-old. She was washing the dishes one summer day & then looked to the backyard. What she saw brought both horror & delight. "Randy" was carrying a kitten in his mouth, evidently because he had seen Momma cats doing the same thing.

I swear, I don't know how I survived childhood.

When I was in high school, KERA (Kentucky Education Reform Act) was getting started & it's all we heard about. I mean, all we heard about.

So anyway, an English teacher was prepping us & giving information about things we would have to do because of KERA being ushered in. One girl raised her hand and asked, "KERA who?"

This is the same girl who, when I was in Middle School, raised her hand when the Health teacher asked how many cells were in the human body. Her answer? "Six."
