After watching the last 5 or 6 games, I would like to know the amount of 3 point attmepts versus 2 point FG attempts? The percentages of both? It seems to me that they are happy just to come down and fire up ill-advised shots rather than look to attack the basket a little more. This could be accomplished by either attacking the front of the rim off the dribble or maybe just once in a while try to use the size that they have between the 3 post players and look inside out. Just an observation

 

Also, when playing a Trame coached team, teams better be ready to face some aggressive play. He has always been able to get the most out of his players and it was very obvious last night which team has more chemistry at this point of the season. Again, just an observation.

Im sure Trame challenged em and they were plenty rested.

WV has one quality win (Owen) but they do have talent, that's all I'm saying. And your prediction for HHS seems to be proving true in the past few weeks.

 

NeerFan, I really appreciate your objective opinion. WV does have enough talent to beat quality teams such as SK and NCC. When we play hard we compete vs good teams. Small mistakes the whole game is what I see. A turn over, miss free throw, a blown layup.... through the course of a game can make the difference in a win or loss. We only have 1 senior... it could be our overall youth.

Walton-Verona has 3 seniors. Hargett, Cotrell, and Daughtery. Had 4 until Kinmon quit.

How is the WV JV team? There was a lot of talk in local AAU circuits over the past 4-5 years about how great of a program Walton was building.

I feel like the vasity team has some quality young players... but after that I am not seeing much. Not trying to take anything away from the kids who work hard. Im only saying that the JV and freshman teams are not very solid squads. That is to be expected though when your two best players in the program are sophmores and playing varsity.

Makes is tough. If NCC didn't have pangallo and McDonald playing up their freshman team would be very very good.

From what I have seen their best overall player is a senior-Hargett.

I agree on the side of hargett being athletic. But wow is he soft.
