Saturday

Semifinals

Noon St. Patrick/Paris winner vs Nicholas/Silver Grove winner

1:30 PM (or 20 minutes after the 1st Game) Brossart vs Deming

Championship

7:00 PM

The championship is on Sunday, correct? That's what was stated in the Ledger.

The times seem to be different as well.

No everyone agreed and preferred to do it all in one day read pairings above. The newspapers predicted Truman would lose to Dewey too hehe

Three possible games in a 24 hr. window seems a bit much for small school All A girls basketball. I'am not sure all the adults that voted had in mind the best interest for all these young athletes. Jan. 25th will be the start of the touchtone All A State Tournament, it seems to me that there is plenty enough time to crown a region champ without compromising the safety of these young athletes.

There has to be a pretty good reason to vote to revamp this tournament schedule especially since there is so much time in between now and the 25th. I do agree this seems crazy.

It's the same schedule as the Sweet 16...late Friday game, early Saturday semis,and a Saturday night final. It's a good experience.

We were told the whole tournament was pushed back a day. Our bad.

This is the same schedule the Sweet 16 has, I agree, but this is no where near the accomodations that go along with the Sweet 16 tournament in Bowling Green or where the state All A is held. Nicholas County for a full day of basketball has to offer a couple of gas stations, a fast food place to eat, and the nearest hotel is the Cadet Inn in Millersburg. I have heard some magical stories that have occurred there:sssh::clap:

 

In short, Brossart fans if you make it the finals, have a game plan in place on how to hang out for 4 hours or so.

What makes this year different?

I can remember back in 1999 when the tournament was played at Nicholas County and the weather came into play. After winning their semifibal game earlier that day, Paris went home but Brossart (if I can remember correctly)stayed at the gym. Might have went and got something toeat or whatever but for the most part they were at the gym. After a slow start by both teams, Brossart warmed up and beat Paris for the title. If Brossart beats Deming, maybe they should talk to some people that were part of the program back then and see what they did to stay focus and then go on to win the game!
