January 5, 201214 yr Author I read a little bit of the article, which tells me quite a bit about him as a person. What are his positions on some of the major issues? http://www.garyjohnson2012.com/issues He also has a very good track record as two-time governor of New Mexico working with a predominantly Democratic congress.
January 5, 201214 yr He has more in common with my views than any of the other major candidates. And I loathe the two parties.

January 5, 201214 yr Author I would love to vote for him, not sure I'll be able to though.Did you commit a felony?
January 5, 201214 yr I'm halfway through the article and I want to know why he is claiming Republican? He sure doesn't seem like a Republican or a Republican that Republicans would vote for. Pot smoking, pro choice, pro gay Republican? Naw....that ain't gonna work. I'll seriously consider voting for him if he ever gets nominated regardless of his party. He seems like my kind of guy.

Before Karl Rove -- in a genius move to win the Presidency -- flooded the GOP with evangelicals, he might have had a chance. The reason he claims it is, because in our two-party system it helps to be a member of one of the big two to have a shot in hell of being elected. BUT, that can be changed if enough people vote how they truly believe instead of being sucked into it. You will be happy to know that he is most likely going to run for POTUS as a Libertarian though.
January 5, 201214 yr To answer PP92, fiscally there is a lot I'm with him on. Also a big state's rights guy. Big-time on less government. Those things appeal to me. But as you pointed out, socially is where he just doesn't fit the prototypical Republican mode & where he falls short of my expectations.

January 5, 201214 yr Did you commit a felony? Nope. Just not willing to throw away a vote and essentially cast my vote for 4 more years of Obama. If anyone other than Romney wins the Republican nomination, Johnson gets my vote.

Socially I am with him and I like the State's rights issue as well.
