Boyle County 72 Highlands 64 OT

Featured Replies

Boyle County wins a thriller against Highlands at Sayre. Boyle was up by as much as 10 points and Highlands battled back to tie the game on a Towles layup with 3 seconds left. Boyle took the lead in OT and never relinquished it. At some point Boyle has to figure out how to keep a lead but we seem to be turning the corner.

Highlands had no answer for Boyle center Michael Arnett. He had 22 points and 8 rebounds on 10-14 shooting. Micah Satterly added 17 on 4-14 from the floor but was 3-6 from the three point line. Kyle Rice added 16 points, 8 boards and 4 assists for Boyle also. Boyle shot 52% from the floor and 14-17 from the FT line.

Highlands was paced by Drew Houliston with 16 points on 6-10 shooting. Towles added 15 points and 7 rebounds and was 3-5 from the three point line. Bailey Witte added 13 points and 7 boards. Highlands shot 40% from the floor and 8-9 from the FT line.

I also was fortunate to meet Qryche11 tonight. I was able to introduce him to Rebel also. As always it is good to meet fellow BGPers. It was great talking to you, Q. Good luck the rest of the year.

Sam Bowie and Kyle Macy were also both present for this game but I honestly was more excited to wish Towles good luck next year and beyond and let him know I'd be pulling for him. It was fun watching Towles and Boyle County linebacker and future Navy Admiral, Zach Hester, battle in the paint for position.

Great to Meet you and Rebel tonight as Well. Your boy played a great game and forced a bunch of turnovers with his quickness.

Birds fought hard to force the OT. I was Proud of them but Still too many turnovers and Missed bunnies. December is get the footballers back in shape month, we will be fine next month.

Arnett is a very nice player, strong with great balance. Working out with Kyle Macy is paying off for that young man.

Towles was battling with Boyle Co football stud Zach Hester for a while there which was Cool to see.

Best of luck this season Maybe I will see you at Rupp in March.

No doubt. I never miss the Sweet 16 so I'll be there...probably unknowingly sitting next to Clizzy again. Hopefully we'll both have a vested interest in the Sweet 16 his year. Good luck homey!!!

Congrats PP to you and the team!!! Told you I would be keeping up with you all.

Shout out to sophomore Drew Houliston tonight. Great game young man.

Good luck but right now I would say that is a long shot. The Rebels aren't in the top 5 in Region 12 so far.

I'd put us at 5 and if we beat West Jessamine tonight I'd put us back at 4. I've seen nothing from anyone to make me feel otherwise.

Not sold on Southwestern at all, we played like girls against Pulaski County who doesn't look like they are better than last year's team, East Jessamine is beatable and we'll see West Jessamine tonight. We beat West then we're 4 again. We lose then we stay at 5.

If the Boyle boys ever get their heads out their rears and play 32 minutes with some fire, heart and intensity then I'll take us against anyone in the 12th. That still hasn't happened.

It's great to see Zach Hester back on the court. He'll make a huge difference in all areas once he can get back to playing starters minutes.

Michael Arnett scored 22 points, and Kyle Rice added 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead Boyle County to a 72-64 overtime victory over Highlands in the Sayre Holiday Classic. Boyle outscored Highlands 10-2 in overtime. Highlands tied the game 62-62 at the end of regulation when Patrick Towles put back his own miss with five seconds left. Drew Houliston came off the bench to lead Highlands with 16 points, and Towles had 15.

I'm not so sure (shape wise) the football players are that far behind the guys who played all summer.

Probably not but its a completely different set of muscle memory and once they get used to shooting the roundball instead of the pigskin as well as get used to the longer periods of explosiveness they will be fine. They are coming along nicely IMO. Very nice to see PT finding his stroke from behind the arc....somewhat uncanny.
