My News Feed on Facebook is filled with atrocious grammar. I'm no "Grammar Nazi" by any means, but when someone posts things like "can somebody come get me out of this house i guess everything is my fault i dont do nothing right i a mistake" and "is there any were 2 go 2night i want to go out sum1 tex me plz", I cannot help but get annoyed. I honestly don't know how someone over seven years old could post something like that. I would feel stupid.

 

I have three "friends" that post like this constantly. Each guy has something to say every day, so I'm constantly presented with garbage. I honestly try to ignore it, but it's kind of like witnessing a train wreck then trying to look away. Just can't do it. Also, two of the three are cousins, so I'm obligated to be their friends. The other guy is the kind of person that would notice if I wasn't his friend any longer and I'm not trying to deal with it.

 

Just wanted to throw a pet peeve out there.

As one of BGPs "Grammar Nazi" I feel your pain.

 

However, with age comes some wisdom so my advice to you is shake your head and let it go. You can't fix it. You can't control it. If you think someone may suffer from their poor grammar and you're tight with them give them some confidential help/advice.

 

Your prolly rite though. Their should be some better writer's in this world,

If it helps I get annoyed every time I see someone on my list talking about having a baby or posting pictures of their newborn baby. To me it's just a constant reminder of what I'll likely never have.

 

I also know that right now I'm extremely bitter about it and it's not fair to those that are on Facebook, which is why I say nothing about it on here. Thankfully here I can vent a little bit.

Without hijacking this thread I'd challenge you a bit on "likely to never have." There is more than one way to become a parent.

That's true, emotionally I'm just not there yet. Cancer and the most high tech/expensive treatments to have a biological child in a 6 month period at 26 aren't exactly how I saw my life going and it's just taken a mental toll on me, one that I've not completely came to terms with yet.

It goes away with age. I don't think I have any "facebook" friends that don't at least make a legit attempt at proper grammar.

Trust me. If you and your bride are unable to have a child the traditional way go the adoption route. I can't imagine you'll look at that child any differently.

Haha I agree I would never report it, but if someone get's mad at you and presses report photo on facbeook you could wind up facing federal charges for distribution.

 

Also I like the idea of a thread where you can just get on and let out whatever is annoying you, kind of an ongoing thread like so many others on here.

I can't imagine any of my 3 grown children having problems with pictures of them naked as an infant. It's still beautiful to me.
