Because they have a bunch of bills and some prisoners in the bay? It's impossible to know, what I do know is that the Obama administration has refused to deport many many illegals that have been caught.

Sure it does, employers want these workers. Even if they pay them minimum wage and don't pay taxes the employer saves the employee portion of the tax contribution. Alabama and California are also completely different economies. Seasonal jobs like picking cotton would be much less desirable than a full time year round job. Why should they be able to sneak in to this country against the law and then just be given a pass for it. If that's the case if I speed and don't cause an accident I shouldn't have to pay the fine or have my insurance go up.

My family arrived here in the 1600's. Our first generation was the 3rd son of an English lord who was given land to come to America in order to keep his status of nobility. Somewhere along the way we lost a lot of the money but that was my first ancestor that came. One of my great grandmothers was a Cherokee princess for our local tribe, well at least what was left of it after forced migration by the government. This is my dad's side, I'm honestly not sure when my mom's family arrived, I do know that my great grandmother told my mother the names of the unmarked slave graves in Wayne County when she was a kid. Mom has it written down somewhere. So I would imagine mom's family has been here at least since the civil war if not sometime before.

 

I also have an uncle that married an illegal immigrant and she divorced him the day her citizenship application was approved and finalized and her paperwork arrived in the mail. That honestly shapes my opinion a lot that was hard on my uncle and hard for me to watch. With that said they did have a child together and I love my cousin with all my heart and I am glad he still comes to see us every summer.

You don't, you have to go to traffic school and it is stricken from your record and doesn't get reported to your insurance company. They way you want the law enforced you should be thrown in jail, have your car confiscated and lose your license because after all you broke the law. Being here illegally is not a major crime it's a minor misdemeanor.

Even if it is just a misdemeanor as you say, how many misdemeanors do you know of that government agencies completely ignore? If they were all paying taxes for the government benefits they receive while here I'd be a little more sympathetic. But unchecked illegal immigration leads to massive abuse of government systems by people who provide nothing to the system.

So your argument isn't necessarily with immigration but more with entitlements that they may receive?

I will support deporting this girl ONLY WHEN the country decides that we are serious about deporting illegals. I'm not deporting a productive young lady until then.

It has it nor does it have to. But there are proper procedures to get here now. Those procedures are needed these days as opposed to when your family would have came. Unfortunately it's a much different world today. I hate it for people like Ms. Reyes, but it's much easier process if the issues is treated black and white and not treated as a fuzzy grey type issue. It's just not the same world anymore, I don't want to lock them all out. But I do want order in to how they arrive here so we can be sure that mass criminals aren't coming in and so we can be sure that those that do come contribute to society just like you and I. That just isn't happening in the system as it stands today so that needs to change.
