December 28, 201114 yr Many alternates will end making the team, therefore watering down the honor of being a pro-bowler, IMO.The Pro Bowl has become big time time watered down. I think there needs to be an asterisks by those that make it as an alternate. Seems like Vince Young made it a couple seasons ago as the #6 QB (#3 alternate). With injuries and turnover in the position, the pool of players is only about 8 or 9 deep per conference. Not to mention that the Pro Bowl is now the week before the Superbowl, that is even more of the players not represented.

It is amazing to think it easily trumps other all star games as far as viewership.
