Kwan Cheatham of Winton Woods is indeed a player. 31 points on 7/9 2pt, 3/6 from beyond the arch and 8/8 from the charity. BTW I would take Cheatham in a heart beat over the gentlemen from PC and Campbell County and he is only a junior. Oh and he is at least 6"8'....

 

CovCath beats WW from the floor going 26/57 with 6 trey's but gets beat from the free throw line getting only to shoot 14 FT while making 12 of them, while WW went 22/28 and no, I am not complaining at all about the stripes, they did a good job as it was an outstanding game to watch....

Fun night of basketball and thanks to the Winton Woods staff for treating us so well. I will say this: Ohio has a rule that only allows a player to play five quarters of basketball a night and Ohio teams are limited to just 20 games on the season! Being from Ky, WOW only 20 games a season.......

Cheatum is legit. Someone told me he's a bit of a late bloomer and is really coming on. I know X is on him and I'm guessing more schools will. Polished game.

 

The other kid that hurt CCH was the 6'4 kid that looks like Jack Jennings back in the day. Great low-post game.

 

I told someone that when the two teams took the floor that physically it looked like varsity vs JV.

 

Every kid for CCH scrapped and busted their hump . No kid took the night off.

Good to see Nick Ruthsatz bounce back quickly after getting yanked after two or three TOs and getting chewed on by Coach/Dad. He even got kicked out of the huddle during a TO. Tough kid though. Bounced right back and may not have turned the ball over again against relentless pressure. Mental toughness is a great gift for a coach.

Remember Jack (Bing) Jennings well. Played against him back in 1988. Good times and memories of those battles bwteen HC and Holmes. Jack was a tremendous player.

This kid was as close to Jack as I've seen in quite a while. Used his thick body well. Strong post game. Hard to keep off the boards.

Shout out to "Jack" Tobler who came up with 17 last night. He is really coming along well and seems to be progressing each and every time I see him.

His Mom played Bingo all the time. Back in those days we would give Jack a hard time about it but he took it well. It was all in good fun.

Zack as I noted last week, is becoming a player and is getting better and better after each outing. Zack worked his butt off during the summer getting stronger, and is gaining confidence in himself! He relishes his job of coming off the bench and giving his team a lift and it wouldn't surprise me one bit, if you started to see him starting soon against certain teams.

Kwan has a load of talent and is capable of being a big time player. He's also a great kid, good grades, well mannered, etc. Way to go Kwan

I knew Jack Jennings when he was a young man playing ball and swimming at Randolf Park in Covington during the summer. Back then his nickname was Bean - Not sure where the nickname came from.
