South Oldham 83 Scott 55

Featured Replies

Scott hits a major bump in the road with a whipping from South Oldham in Oldham County's Ronald McDonald Classic. Anyone have details or stats?

I believe it is now called The Best In Hoops Classic, not Ronald McDonald.

As for the game all I have is quarter scores.

Scott 16, 13, 14, 12, 55

S.Old 28, 16, 14, 25, 83

It was a ball game midway through the 3rd with the score 44-36.

Sorry, I saw it listed under both names on the KHSAA scoreboard, so I wasn't sure which name it goes by now. Thanks for the info!

Congrats to South Oldham. Scott having a rough season so far.

They started the season 4-1, with impressive wins over Pendleton County, Harrison County, and Mason County, which made them appear one of the favorites in the 10th. However, they've lost three straight now.

Coach Carr always seems to have a good SR Leader on his team from most of his teams in the past. I saw them play once this year and they have a nice JR class but there is no SR leadership on this team. They start two SR's who are nice players but vocally they dont lead and dont have the ability to takeover a game like Kellen Smith could do. Coach Carr is searching for leadership and trying to get the JR Class to own up and take some leadership of this team. If they dont they will beat some people they shouldnt and lose some they shouldnt. It maybe a up and down year.

3 straight losses after a 4-1 start.

I have been out of the loop for several days. Didn't know they had lost 3 stright.

Still early in the season and Scott is typically not very good in December. Can't remember the last time they were above .500 going into the new year. You have a lot of players getting their real first varsity playing time so there will be an adjustment period.

Looks like they play Lou. Holy Cross tonight and Oldham Co. tomorrow.

Scott always plays a tough schedule early in the year. I think if you told Brad Carr he be .500 at this point, with 5 new starters, and no strong senior leadership, I think he would have been ok with it. There isn't a game in these first 8 that at the beginning of the year you would just check off as being an easy win. They still should still get out of their district ( maybe not winning it again...Brossart looks like the class of the district) and worry some people in the region.

Amen to that! They will be ok

The loss at Holmes, they controlled till last 1:45... Loss vs Franklin County, they had it till the last :05. They are still learning to close out games, should be a fun January!
