First & second halves very similar. In the 1st, Bracken was up 20-5 & then Scott made a run to close the lead to 5 at the half. Bracken then plays tremendous full-court "D" in the third & fourth quarters & led by as many as 23 (53-30). Kelsch takes starters out with 3 minutes left & Scott makes another run. Kelsch puts starters back in & Scott still scores about 4 more points. Scott also banked in four 3-pointers on the night.

 

Scott's trouble is in protecting the basketball. If they can keep the turnovers to a minimum, they do a decent job executing in a half-court setting.

Sticklen will be a tough matchup for a whole bunch of teams.

^ She's getting much more rebounding support this year. Last night was her first double-digit rebounding performance of the season thus far. There were games last year--namely the regional tournament--when she was just beaten up from having to do so much. Cassidy Jefferson, Allison Tarvin, Mallory Bell & Jordan Wills have really stepped up in that regard. Wills was all over the floor last night.

 

The St. Patrick game (on the road) tomorrow night will be telling for both teams. Coach Douglas' team was able to neutralize Sara last year in the District finals, even though Bracken came away with the victory. The youngsters stepped up big-time in that game. The same will have to happen tomorrow night IMO.
