Dont worry too much. There are a couple GRC posters who will keep you up to date on Mason County's basketball games especially if they lose or dont win by enough. They seem more worried about Mason County than Mason County does!

He has a point, though; although I might substitute the phrase "worried about" with "interested in".

 

One of the more instructive things that I do here on the site is go to the "Who's Online" link on a regular basis. It is positively ASTOUNDING how often the handful of Clark County faithful are looking at Mason County threads; especially the morning after a Mason County game. Case in point - it took 8 minutes for a Clark County supporter to rise to the bait; if bait it was. Here in a Mason County-Bourbon County thread.

 

As to gotta go's observation - I can only speak for myself. My daughter graduated from Mason County in 2008. State championship team (for those of you that might have forgotten). None of the guys on the current team were in high school when she was; she doesn't know any of them. The connections are getting more tenuous. My wife teaches 7th grade in the MC system - I know more about the middle-schoolers than the high-schoolers. I'll make it to a handful of games this season - hopefully. I buy football season tickets every year; never have done so for basketball - even in Mason County's recent "glory days".

 

And I can only speculate as to the thinking of some of my fellow "Mason County posters". Maybe they are thinking that Mason County would be better served as a "flying under the radar" squad this season. Maybe they're not reading a lot into early-season results; at least until it looks like last year's two remaining starters return from injury. Maybe games against Paris, Bourbon County and Ashland aren't as interesting to them as some of the more traditional matchups. Like I said, I can only speak with certainty for myself.

 

And lest I forget, congratulations to Mason County on the win. It appears that Bourbon will have their hands very much full in the 40th.

Thread was posted last night and no replies till I posted at noon today. As a mod, I look for posts in the boys basketball forum and if no replies, I post something. To try and get the thread going. Seems like Mason Co posters don't want posts about their team/games this year.

 

 

 

As a mod I try and post info in a thread or try and get the thread going. Ask for stats, post those I can find, ect. I also start lots of threads from teams that I think will be of interest. I check Jody Demling regularly and post things of intrest on kids from across the state. Do I read Mason Co threads and post in them, Yes, just like I do in Boyle Co, Trinity, Cov. Catholic, Lexington Catholic, Montgomery Co, Pendleton Co, Scott, Rowan Co, Bullitt East, ... I think you get the picture.

 

I have heard Mason Co supportors complain about many things in the past, but about others reading/posting in their threads...unreal.

That is a very interesting fact about how quickly GRC supporters check the Mason Co threads. However you seemed to leave out information about all the other teams and threads that they check as well (and there are a great deal of other teams that reside outside of the basketball Mecca of Maysville). I am sure everyone can go back and check who is checking who and in the end no one will care.

 

Perhaps the Mason faithful should be happy that there are people who like to openly discuss the programs plusses and minuses; (and wishing speedy recoveries to those that are injured & hoping that they get back soon). Maybe 10th region fans like to discuss the teams that will all be playing for a wide-open regional crown in March, perhaps it is just friendly banter from passionate fans. I find it refreshing that someone has spoken up because I was beginning to think "Tradition Never Graduates" had left the building.

 

So in our yearly battle over the same old crap - both sides have fired. I guess it all will come down to who is going to Rupp and who isn't. As of right now - no one knows. But the banner belongs to Clark Co until they win it again or someone else is crowned. I for one will enjoy the ride along the way.

Guys, I think that rivalry may be over for awhile since the 10th is so competitive from top to bottom. Too much Emphasis on

No doubt that the 10th is ABSOLUTELY wide-open this year. Montgomery, Clark, Brossart, Campbell, Scott, Mason, Pendleton, Harrison in the mix for sure. By tourney time it wouldn't be a shock if any of these teams make the trip to Rupp. Even Paris if they catch a break or two.

 

Most balanced the 10th has looked in a month of Sundays.
