November 22, 201114 yr I wonder if age has anything to do with the Mr. & Mrs. usage. Maybe younger people use 1st names and older people tend to use Mr./Mrs. I could be completely wrong, but I didn't know one person growing up who didn't use parents first names. I know I for sure would want my kids friends to use my first name.

And I agree, I do not want my kids friends calling me Mr. I have a first, middle, and last name and none of them are Mr.

I do refer to some of my friends' parents by their first name, but only after being invited to do so by them, even if they are the same age or younger than me. When I met my son's in-laws, they were Mr. and Mrs. ____ until they insisted that I call them by their first names. That was how I was raised. By the same token, those of you who have interacted with me in person, know that I always respond to yes and no questions with "yes, sir" and "yes, ma'am". Again, that was how I was raised.

November 22, 201114 yr To the people who have never used Mr. and Mrs., are you from a rural area? I don't think it's as much of an age thing as it is what part of the state are you from. I grew up in a very rural area and this was/still is pretty common.
November 22, 201114 yr He may have made some good movies in the past, but as I said...he has been awful for going on a decade now. Grown ups was pretty good. It was just different. He went into making family comedies....some of the movies aren't bad in and of themselves. They just aren't what you'd expect from 90's Sandler. Now, there are about 3 movies that are indefensible and he should have really taken a step back before he decided to film them.
