I recall they ran into that problem not too long ago when they had their last BCS bid... Good question. My understanding is that this isn't the strongest time financially for the sports department. Those tickets are ridiculously priced.
November 6, 201114 yr I seem to remember UC traveling pretty well when they went to the Orange Bowl previously. I don't recall any issue with them not being able to sell their ticket allotment.

This year is a whole lot like 08 and the Orange Bowl team so far, so we'll see how it goes from here. I will say this. The 10K core of the program is very strong. There was about that many at Pitt tonight. There is a strong travel base, so they aren't in danger of losing huge like UCONN last year. Still a long way to go, but if it is Miami for New Years, UC will at worst break even...
November 7, 201114 yr Good for UC. Although I'd submit the BEast as well as the Big Ten as examples of why automatic bids should be done away with.
