Yeah he changed to #2 this season.

Hoskins is no doubt a superstar in the making and I wish him the best of luck. Other than Cashen, I can't think of any mountain QB's better. Good luck to Trevor this upcoming season and hopefully he gets the looks by big schools that he deserves.

Clay Co had a nice young QB this year too.

Mboro QB Trevor Hoskins had 1700 yards in the air and 600 on the ground in 2005, and accounted for 27 TD's. He has D1 size at 6'4", 4.5 speed (Hon Mention AP All-State at WR as a Soph), and has had Unofficials to Marshall and UK, among others. Was chosen SEKC Offensive Back of the Year over Corbin's Cashen and Clay's Lewis (both will be Jrs next season, Hoskins will be a Sr).

IMO, the best returning QB in EKy.

I don't think they looked at stats when voting for SEKC. Hoskins is a fine player, but down the road, Lewis(soph next year) and Cashen(Jr next season) could be better.

Kyle Nelson of Bell CO. 2 year starter, will be a junior and maybe the best in the mountains. I know he plays against much tougher opponents like: Highlands, Henry Clay, Rockcastle,Ashland,Southwestern Pul,Madison Southern,Boyd Co. just to name a few, passed for over 1500 yards as a soph, ,

He is pretty good, but not the best in the area or district.

Dylan Grandon will be the best one that few people has heard about. He will be a JR at North Oldham. If he gets in the right system I look for him to have an outstanding JR+SR year. He has started two years there already.

Ammonds would be my #1 for next year though!

Nice pick :thumb:

I can't think of a better QB in the area or district. Record, stats, individual performances, head to head comp.

In your area it's Cashen. In your district, it's Clay's freshmen QB. I'm pretty sure he was way way ahead of Nelson in every QB individual catagory. I know that he more than doubled him in yardage. I think around 3400 including playoffs. Stats, individual performances, and head to head I would assume he won easily. Lots of good young QB's in mts.

I didn't know he was that young, heck of a ball player, watched last year against LCC.

You can't evaluate a kid by his stats in High School football.

In the system Nelson(Bell Co) and Hoskins(Middlesboro) are in they are lucky if they get to throw the football 10 times a game.

That's true, but the players abilities should dictate the system a coach runs. For example, if Hoskins has such a great arm and good recievers such as Farr, shouldn't he be throwing more. Alot of kids abilities are overlooked because of the same system run every year. A good coach will adjust his game to his players. In certain situations, it's called "flexible".

We've had great QB's and WR's in the past and we didn't change our style of offense for them.

I would have loved to seen Blake Bowling or Jeremy Skidmore throw the football 30 to 40 times a game and put up HUGE stats on little drop off passes to the RB's and WR's but just because they don't doesn't make them any less of a high school QB.

No one player is bigger than the system ,We have always been a running team and we always will.

Have you seen Cashen throw the ball! True... he has put up tremendous HS stats... but he is not a Top QB in 06! Most of his stats are due to 2 things:

1.) WR Blackwood who is legit

2.) Weak competition.... look at how he has played against the best and it isnt very good!

IMO Cashen is highly overrated due to his passing stats! Another weakness I see in his game: he is a decent runner, but he isnt gonna beat you with his legs! This is what makes Nelson so dangerous!

As far as Clay's Lewis goes, read my pm!
