Ryle 38 Dixie 28

Featured Replies

Entertaining game.

Ryle pressed Cohorn and took him completely out of the game. Great move on Ryle's part as Dixie had no one else to catch the ball.

Cohorn must have had 160 yards in the first half and Ryle made good adjustments on him to win the game. Great job by Ryle backup soph QB Ryan Hill.

Hill is extremely fast.

What happened to Davis?

He injured his ankle in the first half. He tried coming back in the 4th and threw an interception. He didn't see the field again.

They make a nice one two punch at QB. Davis is a nice high school QB and Hill does a great job in the wildcat.

Ryan Hill carried the ball 27 times for 254 yards and 3 TDs Also threw for td.

I don't want to take anything away from a great game by Hill, but the Ryle line sure appears to deserve some praise. It seems like whoever runs the ball for Ryle gets big yards.

I think it is fair to say Ryle is a well coached football team.

I agree that the Ryle line looks good; they did a great job blocking. Once Davis went down, i am sure that several Ryle parents wondered if Hill could do the job. I thought he did a great job. Once Hill broke the line of scrimmage, it appeared that with his speed and quickness he was able to out run MANY Dixie defeneders. 254 yards AND he trhrew for a TD....He still needs to take the line out for dinner or even some Edy's ice-cream...

He got lucky on the TD pass as it went right through Goose's hands. The kid ran the ball great though. He hides behind the line, and as soon as he sees daylight, he's gone. #85 for Dixie was the only one able to track him down. He filled in very well for Ryle tonight.

Not having Pitzer, Hatton, and Bruns tonight really hurt Dixie tonight. Cohorn got taken completely out of the game, and Dixie did very little to help free him up. Putting him in motion more would've helped. Once he was taken care of, Pike didn't have Pitzer or Hatton to go to. It really made Dixie one dimensional, and when they did have to pass, Ryle could man up and bring the house leaving Pike with no time to throw. Bruns was dressed tonight, but he never saw the field. They miss his speed greatly.

Ryle did make an adjustment on Cohorn at the half. I noticed two or sometimes three players in his area in the second half. The first half he must have had 10 to 12 catches. That first touchdown he caught was probably the best catch I've seen in a long time. It was really good. And not having Pitzer to compliment Cohorn made Dixie pretty a one dimensional team. Double or triple up on Cohorn and make Pike run the ball. Dixie has no running game besides Pike, and no passing game without Cohorn, and Ryle coaching staff picked up on it at the half.

Actually, not true about going through Cohorn's hands after watching the film. Goose made a great effort on the play and leaped fully extended in the air and barely tipped the ball. Hill threw it high and to the end zone line where it was going to be either OB or a TD to Smith. Great play by Hill and Smith and great effort by Cohorn to try to knock it away. Just a beautiful throw.

Never seen better hands on a kid at this level than Goose's. Unbelievable one-handed diving catch on the first TD for Dixie.

Still no Bruns? He said he was playing in the Beechwood game almost a month ago. Hopefully he can make it back for the playoffs. He will help the offense a lot if he is healthy.
