I can't comment on the video as to I haven't seen or heard it. Why is it on the Fairview site to listen/view anyway?

 

WARNING! If you watch the video, it has language that is degrading and unacceptable. Coach needs to hand out a suspension in most peoples opinion. Even Raceland fans are calling for it.

It was directed at some Fairview players, with language NBA players get fined 50k for or suspended.

 

 

Guess the link made it to facebook directed at Fairview player(s). Any coach with courage and a pair would suspend a few games and demand an apology and take the video down.

I seen it and all I can say is WOW. If that was one of my kids the coach would not have to do something. Congrats go out to Fairview they stayed at it and came out on top. I hope to see a rematch in the playoffs. It was a good game and fun to watch.

I agree, strength of scheudle is focused on by many people and at times it can be heavily overrated. There's other teams coming to mind that I think are going to do better when playoff time comes than others may due to strength of schedule.

It mentions drugs, degrading females, other unacceptable language. We will see if TJ handles this. I bet possibly suspends for Paintsville and not Russell. If I was the coach or AD, off the team....period. No place for it. Makes the team, Raceland, look awful. Maybe the AD or principal will step in if TJ goes too easy or send wsaz a link and put pressure to handle it with severe punishment.

I just watched the video. I've played Raceland many times, and they have always played us with class. I would just like to say that anyone who watches it should not judge the team based on those two players. Their highschool kids and they do stupid stuff, but their are no excuses and that behavior is not acceptable, and I'm sure they will be disciplined if their coach hears about it.

You got that right. Fairview has an excellent football team to say the least. Looks like the padded schedule workedto their advantage.

As I suspected, a Fairview win and Raceland is just not as good as many had hyped them to be

 

I don't know who you are talking about in your post. I for one have not been claiming any championship. I do feel that this Raceland team (dominated by fresh/sophs) is a year, maybe two years away from having a very,very good team.. Whether Raceland wins a district, playoff games or further it is a goal every year. We are over zealous in posting but that is just pride in our kids, nothing more, nothmg less I think that you may have mistaken our pride in our program and all the posting as hype JMO

Someone pointed out a video a Raceland player made on youtube type in Marcus and Bubba go to the Fairview video and listen........if I was the coach,AD, or whatever, warrants a suspension with the language used towards Fairview. In society and life there is no place for this. Coach should suspend for a few games, but being a star on the team, nothing will happen. Congrats to both teams tonight, Raceland fought hard, and hope any injured players are not serious.

 

I did not and will not watch it. I didn't hear about it untill recently and if what was said to be on it was then I would be very upset. All I can say is that is in no way an example of what Raceland teaches and is by far an exception rather than the norm. I know that if it were my kid that I would certainly deal with it but it is not for me to tell someone else what should be done.

Eagle5 mentioned something which is so true, kids can be stupid and imo these sure were. I in no way am excusing anything, it is wrong. I will also say that this kind of thing probably goes on much more and everywhere than any of us want to think.

I am sure the act/acts and kids will be dealt with and no one needs to or should tell Raceland or anyone else's school what to do with their kids. Who are they to determine what another school should do? Seems to me they need to take care of their own house, not someone else's that was not involved in it.

I do understand and respect what you are saying and not "busting" on you at all. JMO. :thumb:

Read the box score in the paper this morning and tell me we didn't get outcoached. Fairview consistently got the ball in the hands of their playmakers, 47 times between their three main running backs, our three touched it a total 15 times. Beach touched the ball one time!! You can't run big backs on the edges like we tried, time and time again and expect to get any yardage against a team like Fairview. We have too many playmakers who are not touching the ball and we won't beat a team like Fairview!!

I agree Oldrambler, and I think you are wise not to watch it, and yes kids can do some stupid things, I am sure Coach Maynard will address. This video once you turn it loose on the internet,is there for all to see, it was so inflammatory that it has upset even Raceland fans,who were astonished by the language and content. It was for Raceland to deal with,but once it is published for all to see, and thus be offended, people just want to see if Maynard or the administration at Raceland provide proper punishment. If it were my kid,he would be publishing another video with an apology to all,especially women, and to younger children who we dont want to think drugs are ok or cool. Once it was published on youtube,it is outside of Raceland, and thus people rightfully have an interest in seeing if Coach Maynard controls his team,or do the stars of the team get handled differently. Yes,all schools have a few who act before they think......but,in the long run, why would anyone say such horrible things? I hope, that first of all, a good talk about life in general, I want all kids from all of our schools to succeed. I agree Oldrambler,and you are the #1 an of Raceland, but once that got published on youtube for the world to see, the people offended goes beyond Raceland,therefore people have an interest on what if any punishment is handed down. Raceland is a first class team,with first class fans,coaches and people,in no way does this video represent the fine folk there.

I listened to a replay of the game,and it sounded like Raceland can beat Fairview in a rematch. This game was close till a bad few minutes. I would bet Fairview knows they are at least playing their equals, and know if there is a rematch,it could go either way. Turnovers,dropped td passes,and a few penalties beat Raceland. Good game congrats to both imo

Just read that Neathercut had another concussion, that is 2 this season, and I hope he is looked at cautiously and perhaps gets checked out and cleared by a good neurologist. These concussions can ruin a person in later life and no game of football is worth dribbling oatmeal off your chin at 35 yrs old or so. May God Bless him and hope he has all the testing necessary, but in no way would I expect him to play for a good amount of time. Crosby the NHL has not played or had serious contact in nearly a year, caution and not getting hit, I can't imagine risking a 3rd concussion, and wish him and the Rams the best. As a parent,if it were my kid, I would seriously cosider dropping football, youhave to think of the future quality of life.

Sounds like it was a good game until late. If a rematch is played, I would strongly think about attending.

 

As for the video, it is unfortunate. Being around kids every day, I'm not offended by it but disappointed that it happened. Kids are capable of doing questionable things at any time. You hate to see it when someone puts something like that online for all to see.

Once it is online, and there are other multiple videos, with long-neck beer bottles in the background, each video is worse than the first. Player or not,this shouldn't be permitted by Raceland for any student who represents the school and their values. This would go for all school systems. Unbelievable, but sad in any case. There is no way Coach Maynard or the Raceland staff has no knowledge of this. I have read people have flagged the videos as inappropriate and hopefully they will be taken down. Raceland personnel and the parents need to have a good long talk with this young man. What happens will show if Raceland does stand for values, but you can't let a cancer grow by doing nothing.
