Granted its because of my UK fandom, but as I said, I'm being selfish. The thought of the Anthony Davis' and Brandon Knight type players being at UK for 2 seasons minimum is to much excitement for me to handle.

If you have insider on this page is a spot called "Where the age limit stands." I'm sure it hasn't been a big issue but I do believe it has been discussed, or at least this leads me to believe that.

It basically says it could stay the same or be moved to 2 years but the likely hood of it going to right out of high school is very, very low. NBA wants 2 years, Union wants right out of high school. I don't expect it to be a big issue but I'm selfishly hoping for the 2 year resolution, I can see that happening with the Union not caring about that issue as much as others whenever they do reach a deal.

Could do something like baseball. Go out of high school or if you go to college you have to wait 2 years.

 

Would be cool if the NBA season opened on Christmas Day.

And NOW they want to move to decertify? After weeks of talks? Why didn't they do this back in July? At this point, what does filing an antitrust suit get the players? I'm hoping this is just a ploy to get the owners the keep system tweaks to a minimum when they meet on Saturday, because I really don't understand it.

I would imagine pretty soon the December games are going to be canceled. Very sad my Holiday season won't have any primetime basketball games. :cry:

What a mess, I'm turning the corner on my views here and really am wondering when the resolution will come. I would have bet anything that Christmas day games would be a go (and may still be) but now I wouldn't confidently make that bet.

The players, like most all unions are holding this thing up IMO. Most unions just want more, more, more, and more, that's what they have become. Now don't get me wrong, not saying unions are a bad thing, just saying they are totally different now then when they first hit the labor scene. Now in a lot of these cases unions have went through so many contract renewals that it has gotten to the point in which it is impossible to please them because all they want is a better deal, that perfect deal. Well when the perfect deal was made 30 years ago and every time a contract is up you have the get an even better deal you run into problems once there is only so much left to give.

 

The NBA owners were the ones losing money, the players were the ones who practically raped them during the last CBA. NBA has already came down from almost 57/43 on the revenue split to now right at a 51/50, 50/50 split. They have basically gave the players everything else they wanted, veterans minimum, etc. This thing needs to get done before they lose even more games and even more money. If it doesn't get done its on the players IMO. I'm glad the owners gave them an ultimatum and I hope they stick to it and come back with a 55/45 + split if the players balk on the deal and go past Wednesday's deadline without an agreement.

^ I still don't buy that. There aren't any good guys in this thing anymore, but this isn't all on the players. The owners lost money and want to recoup their losses in CBA negotiations, rather than put their collective feet down on league expenditures, which have done nothing but go up. In a world where I see the contracts I've seen and the expenses these franchises rack up, I have a difficult time feeling sorry for them.

And they aren't going to be stupid again and have an agreement in place that will allow stupid contracts again. I don't blame one side or the other. It's a negotiation and both sides have to find terms they accept to reach an agreement. If getting the terms of the agreement right mean more than playing games, then they will stay out till they reach an agreement. Both sides share equally in the responsibility of any results.
