First, some background on what this is.

 

Once upon a time (2006), we did something on here called the Region 1 Rankings. It was a simpler time, when Region 1 was roughly synonymous with Western Kentucky, or at least a close approximation. Then came six classes, and suddenly teams like Nelson County, Louisville Holy Cross, and Kentucky Country Day were in Region 1, which somewhat defeated the idea. Since then, we have had a few attempts to do a poll, most recently UK fball fan's West Ky Rankings, which I consider this to be part of. I'm not looking to step on toes, but I want to introduce some regularity to this, so I'm going to take the baton and run with it.

 

So first things first, these are the teams that are eligible. All are in Region 1, but not all Region 1 teams are eligible.

 

Small Schools

1A - Caverna, Fulton City, Fulton County, Mayfield, Russellville

2A - Ballard Memorial, Butler County, Caldwell County, Crittenden County, Hancock County, McLean County, Murray, Owensboro Catholic, Reidland, Todd County Central, Union County

3A - Adair County, Edmonson County, Fort Campbell, Hart County, Heath, Monroe County, Paducah Tilghman, South Warren, Trigg County, Webster County

 

Big Schools

4A - Allen County-Scottsville, Breckinridge County, Calloway County, Franklin-Simpson, Hopkins County Central, Lone Oak, Madisonville-North Hopkins, Owensboro, Warren East

5A - Apollo, Barren County, Bowling Green, Christian County, Graves County, Greenwood, Hopkinsville, Logan County, Ohio County, Warren Central

6A - Daviess County, Henderson County, Marshall County, Muhlenberg County

 

GUIDELINES

• There are two sets of rankings within this, one for the small schools, one for the big schools
  
• All ballots should be posted in this thread
  
• You will rank teams 1-10
  
• You can choose to vote for both the big and small schools, or one or the other if you so choose
  
• Please make sure to denote which you are voting for before ranking the teams (i.e. put Small Schools, then your ten teams)
  
• Generally sometime towards the middle of the week but as late as Thursday I will post the results.
  

 

Also note: This is like any thread here, it's for generating discussion. I'd love for anyone who wants to participate to post their ranks, but do not be surprised if there is debate. Everyone gets questioned from time to time.
