What do you know about Grove City? Have you seen them? Film? Please, let's not pretend that you're well versed on Grove City, Ohio. Again, I'm not slamming anyone here, just that the bashing Fairview is getting old.

I never said I was well versed on Grove City, but that doesn't mean i don't know anything about them, not to mention that I've been a coach on the varsity level for several years, and have also played, so i do think i know a little bit about high school football. And again, i have never bashed the Eagles...read any of my posts. Saying their schedule is soft isn't bashing them.

Why is it bashing when you say a team is very good. And my beat our team by 50. The only thing wrong is you play a weak schedule. Over and over I read on here. Fairview is good. Fairview is very talented. Fairview my beat any team on the schedule by 50. Just beef up the schedule. So this is called bashing!!

Wow, forget I said anything. (And for those who have sent me PMs and are certainly reading this, now I get what you mean) We can look through the threads from the past about the Huntington pipeline and all the junk. My point is this, why does their schedule bother you? Pointless, petty and again, the real end may justify the means. Like another poster stated above, perhaps their goal is to breed winning attitude. And from the green eyed perspective down the road, it seems they have. It's kind of pathetic and I don't care to say it. Call it what you like. Again, the proof will be in the post season pudding.

I'm tired of hearing about Fairview's strength of schedule. They played the same sort of schedule last year and if I remember correctly they whipped our tails up and down the field and went on to give LCA all they wanted. The team may not be facing the toughest schedule, and there are questions about their roster, but they are learning to win and that has to mean something. I'm a diehard Raceland fan, but eventually you have to stop sugar coating things. I know this response is bound to get someone's knickers in a wad, but I have to get it off my chest.

 

You make alot of good points here and I will not argue with any of them. Bottom line is that Fairview has some great kids, on and off the field. They are very well coached and from what all I can gather he treats his kids right and people in their community as well as some other places respect Coach McPeek. Personally I was trying to compliment Fairview in this thread by saying what a tremendous team they have. I know that I would love to be unbeaten. At no time did I say anything at all about any of their kids and I am pretty sure that no one else did either. Should any of my comments had hurt any kid or their parent then I apologize. I really don't think that I or anyone else hurt any feelings, truth be known the comments have made them mad or probably no doubt have and are giving the Eagles a whole lot of bullinten board material and they are laughing about it and laughing at us.

As for a mention of people slamming GCHS, alot if not of that was due to their own coach calling out, or to belittle Raceland in the newspaper article the week of that game. That may be wrong but at least imo that was the reason.

Should Fairview beat Raceland here in around 3 weeks (and there is a very,very solid chance of just that happening) then I will be on here giving them their due congrats.

 

As of now 37 post on a Fairview thread and not one from a Fairview person. I was wanting some of them to post and give their own kids some well deserved praise. That tells me once again that at least I am giving the threads way too much attention,lol. I will post on another Fairview thread when Raceland plays them.

Here are the facts:

 

* Fairview is 16-2 in their last 18 games including a 27 point win over Raceland. Raceland is 9-9.

 

* Raceland doesn't get any playoff points or certificates of achievement for losing to Ashland by 37 last season, losing to Greenup by 26 last season, losing to Ashland again by 46 this year, and losing to Sciotoville Community by 22.

 

* Raceland's schedule that supposedly prepares them for the postseason did not work last year when they lost to LCA by 40 points in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Even with Fairview's supposedly weak schedule, they still went to LCA and only lost by 11 in the 3rd round of the playoffs.

 

* Since strength of schedule is so important to Ram fans, the remainder of Fairview's schedule is stronger than Raceland's schedule. They play the same 2 district foes, but Fairview closes the season with the 8th ranked team in 3A, undefeated Powell County, while Raceland closes the season with Russell, the 14th ranked team in 3A.

 

* Fairview is currently the 4th ranked team in class A, getting 1 first place vote in the latest AP poll.

I want to go on record as saying that I have only stated my opinion on a topic that was already started. I have re-read my comment and I stand behind it. I feel the better teams in the area should play better talent. Period. End of sentence. I am not picking on F'view nor am I jealous. I think that Nate has built a great program that Chad had started. I also stand behind my comment that has chided some by saying that Raceland would be 6-0 if we played the same schedule. The 2 common opponents are East Carter and Greenup and both scores are almost identical. I am not insulting F'view or their players/coaches. It was just my opinions and that is what I thought BGP's was all about.

BlackandWhite, you are dead on correct with your post. My only negative was saying the schedule was weak in the beginning and if I have offended by stating this, I am sorry, too.

Also, just to defend myself once more. Chris Brewer is 1st cousin to my office manager. Shawna knows that I have no ill feelings towards F'view and that I have said the same things to her when we discuss our teams. It is just an opinion and it's mine.

I'm sorry that in post 1. I put that Fairview might beat us by fifty. Maybe I should have made it sixty! Post 2. Fairview is very talented. Looking forward to seeing some of the kids play. Post 23. The eagles are one of the most talented teams in EKY. You got the stadium and talent now. Post 25. Fairview is a very very good team. The eagles have very talented kids. Should have been more sensitive and a little less harsh in saying, man you guys are good. Maybe it's time to beef up the schedule so everyone can see how good you are against the better eastern ky teams. Sorry guys!

Here's a fact. You right in about everything stated above. I didn't see anyone on here saying anything like Raceland is a better team the past couple years. All I have read is Fairview is good, very talented and may beat the Rams by 50. Mabe the Rams should only schedule nondistrict teams that they think they had a 99% chance in winning. But then I would much rather play Ashland and Russell and beat them sometimes. It's the most awesome feeling beating the giants of your area. Fairview doesn't get the chance to do that. SAD!

And if Fairview accidentally gets to the final game and gets wiped out by Mayfield, this schedule will sure have been a huge mistake. Had they got pounded by Ashland, they'd be better prepared to be pounded by Mayfield. I get it now.
