Let's see - HHS beat Mason County 71-8. Mason County beat Harrison County 21-2.

Who do you think gets the win in this one?

Birds big and the halftime Dance show on the field will be the highlight of my night as my 4 yr old makes her debut. Thanks to the HHS Dance team for spending 4 hours in a clinic yesterday with little girls in the community.

This one will likely have a running clock by halftime. Highlands wins big.

I will be interested in seeing how Coach Mueller and HHS handle this game. Prior to the CovCath game, Highlands' starters saw relatively little action due to the lopsided nature of the games against Dixie, Western and Mason County. There is every reason to believe this game is going to be lopsided. According to the HHS announcers the HHS defensive players appeared fatigued late in the game, which begs the question: do the HHS starters need to see more action week in and week out, regardless of how lopsided a game is, in order to be prepared for playing four quarters against stiffer competition?

Or, is it wiser to continue to pull the starters early, so as to allow banged up players additional time to heal and to limit injuries during the course of the season, so that when the playoffs begin the team will be "fresher"/healthier?

A lot of people have said that Highlands will win state this year as long as they can stay relatively healthy over the course of the year. Is this still the conventional wisdom, or do many people now believe that Highlands can be knocked off by another 4A team in the playoffs, even if HHS is at full strength?

Pull em early is smart and let the other 45 kids on the roster play. They will play a 16 game schedule this year and those guys will be needed for the playoffs. Jmo

Pendleton

Holmes

Elder

Ryle

1st Rd of Playoffs

Highlands gets caught looking ahead to a big Pendleton County game. Harrison County 3-0.

:pYeah, the next two games are like back-to-back Scott games. I don't feel too bad for Holmes, but I think the realignment blows for Harrison and Pendleton.

I can remember a few years back, CCH played Harrison in the playoffs and they weren't exactly a pushover. Are they just really down this year, or are they Historically like Scott? Pendleton just got a football team not too long ago, right?

I think you pull your starters when you're up big. I think Elder and Ryle will be enough to get them in shape for the playoff run.

Highlands was exposed last week. Look for a much closer game than most anticipate. I will go with birds 65-7 :D

Mason County beat them 21-2. I know they say you can't compare scores from similar opponents, but this one kinda jumped at me. And, yes, Pendleton is fairly new.
