Michigan 35 Notre Dame 31

Featured Replies

Good to there. At that point, however, you are left with a debate of great conflict. There is no D in Brian Kelly...

Very true, however it seems like he might actually care to recruit better on defense than what Weis seemed to do.

Nd had 5 turnovers, Michigan had 3. Not to big of a difference to overcome against a bad team.

2 3rd and 1's and 2 4th and 1's ND runs the same play and fails all 4 times. That is 100 % the coaches fault.

I'll with you the running on 4 running plays that failed every single time. But surely you can't blame these turnovers on the coach.

I'm sorry I still think Kelly is going to get things going sooner rather that later.

You said care and recruiting in the same sentence when talking about BK. That's a first. Well played...

You mean preparation by putting up over 500 yards total offense in both games, yet you say they were not prepared? Give me a break. You do realize if Notre Dame doesn't have three turnovers inside the 10 yard line in the first game that they probably win easily against USF. You do realize if they don't have 4 turnovers tonight, and another one inside the 10 that they win pretty easily tonight too. There is one reason and one reason only for why they lost and that is turnovers. It has nothing to do with being prepared, or anything like that. I could understand your argument if Notre Dame just looked terrible out there and weren't moving the ball or anything. However that is not true, in both games they have moved up and down the field. The only thing that has stopped them is theirselves and turnovers.

Which by the way you do realize if Robinson wasn't the QB, then Notre Dame would prepared even more for the pass. Their goal was to slow down Robinson, and make him beat them with the pass. Your whole statement about well if he was more accurate is way off base, because that is the reason why they wanted to make him beat them with the pass is because he is inaccurate. That is the game plan, and before you say anything about me coaching you probably need to know what your talking about but from the things I see you say on here I doubt you understand that. Trust me I have seen plenty of Notre Dame coaches over the years, and if they sucked I was right there saying they suck. I hated the guy after Lou Holts, didn't like Ty Willingham, Weis was ok but wouldn't go anywhere with him because he never did much with the defense. Brian Kelly can coach. If they just even cut those turnovers in half, then they are 2 and 0 right now. It comes down to turnovers not coaching, in these two games. You can't make runningbacks hold on to the ball, you can't make QB's not let the ball slip out of their hands on a pass, etc. It's not that hard to get man.

You keep saying if, if, if. Talk about what did happen and not if something else would have happened. Why do people get all excited about how many yards a team has. The only thing that matter is the scoreboard and in two games ND has lost on that stat. The announcers said it tonight that Kelly was hired to make this Defense better. Is he succeeding? By the way, when the game was on the line Robinson did beat the Irish with his arm. 80 yards in under 30 seconds is inexcusable!

I saw bad defense by mediocre teams, but fun to sit around and watch at the end of the day. As bad as the defenses were I think every college team in the commonwealth would have trouble moving the football against either of these teams.

It was the same play? Wow my bad you do have inside information, since apparently you know what even plays are called. Their running game had a big game all day long too, and for the most part they were winning by a few touchdowns all day long. Not to mention up until midway through the 4th the defense had played good all day long too. So at that point you trust your run game, cause it has been working, you want to keep the clocking moving since your winning, and you trust your defense even if it gets stopped. Very easy to say it was wrong, when it didn't work out. However there was nothing wrong with deciding to do run plays in those situations. There was no reason not to do those running plays, because they were controlling the game.

It was 22 seconds for anyone counting... :D

Heck of a game to watch. # TD's in the last 1:23 or so....fun game to watch.

Did you even watch the game? If so, you would have seen that the big running plays came when Rees audibles to them.

The only thing Kelly has proved is that he did a good job with Mark Dantonio's players in the regular season. I don't think he was # 1 on ND's list, I just think they always knew they could get him if the other coaches they desired fell through.

Brian Kelly is an offensive coach, not a defensive coach. Yes he will try to get the defense better by recruiting better defensive players, than what Weis did. However when it comes down to it, he is an offensive coach. Your point in saying he is bad coach was by saying they were not prepared. Please tell me again where you saw that they were not prepared? You want to talk about the if's I said because you have nothing to back up that he didn't have the team prepared. It's very simple the reason they lost both games is turnovers, and nothing else. If they cut turnovers even in half, then everything Kelly did worked and then when both games easily like they should have. Turnovers is why they lost, not bad coaching or anything like that.

Now my point with Robinson is you talked about how if Robinson was accurate Michigan wins by two touchdowns. Well if he was an accurate QB, they wouldn't be trying to make him beat them with his arm. Then all those passes wouldn't have been as open either. Come on man at least know something about what your talking about here. They wanted to make him beat them with his arm, and that worked for most of the game. Then at the end he ended up beating them with his arm. Your whole statement about if he was just more accurate is irrelevant in this case, because the game plan then would been different. Just get over this apparent axe you have to grind with him, you don't have anything at the moment to support your argument for him being a bad coach. Your whole not being prepared argument was not even close, so unless you got something better give it up.

I am done with this discussion now. I am getting off here and getting ready to watch some bad Ohio football tomorrow. We can continue this discussion more at the end of the year, when maybe you have something to go with your argument. However until then, this discussion has no reason to continue. Good Night :D

I also said Michigan receivers dropped a lot of passes. I guess you are saying Kelly and the ND coaching staff wanted Robinson to beat him with his arm and they also knew that the WR's would have all those drops? I'm done with this conversation.

I watched every second of it, and from the things you have said. But Apparently my watching it does not include any kind of axe to grind like you have with Kelly.

I don't think he was #1 either, I think they tried for Urban again and was shot down, and possibly Bob Stoops. But if I remember correctly he was one of the next ones on the list that they wanted. The guy has coached a season and 2 games now at Notre Dame. As I said before you really have nothing to go with on your argument right now on this. Your just really reaching right now. Lets wait until the end of this season and then you may have at least something to go with what your saying. Now once again Good night :D

Eh, just never mind. You just keep with your axe to grind.....Edit...

Seriously man stop, your smart to be done with this conversation. You have nothing to back up your arguments right now, and your just really reaching. It is just smart to stop.

0-2 backs up my arguement. Now go to bed! :D
