LSU 40 Oregon 27

Agreed. If you are the best you will beat the tough teams. LSU looked good last night but I don't think their offense will hold up over 11 more game. They were able to out talent OU but that won't be the case in the SEC. I will be surprised if LSU is there in the end.

They were without their best player on offense and their starting QB. Take James and Thomas away from Oregon, Jones and Broyles away from Oklahoma, etc. The offense will be fine IMO. The running game is nasty.

I'm not sold that Jefferson is one of thier best offensives players. Was not impressed with what I saw from him last year.

Sure they play some tough teams, but hey if you are this good, shouldn't matter. Bama plays some of the same teams.

A lot of the same teams...the difference is that LSU has to travel to 'Bama and Mississippi State, while those are home games for the Tide. LSU's out of conference schedule is much better with Oregon and WVU, much tougher than just Penn State, IMO.

He's not very good, not a big loss imo since Lee has been there long enough to know the offense.

^ You really thought LSU would win by 13? Wish I was that good.

Not necessarily by points, but the defense started to clamp down later into the game, which I figured would happen. LSU was my pick to be national champions at the end of the last bowl season. After seeing how they handled the Ducks overall, I feel pretty confident in my pick that I felt may have been too soon, which was back in January.

Oregon is very good, but, playing a finesse style generally gets you beat when you play SEC teams.
