July 31, 201115 yr I don't understand the animosity and disdain displayed in this thread. As a matter of fact, it quite sickens me.TB&G, I never understood ace's animosity or disdain toward me with his comments about the poor.
July 31, 201115 yr My favorite post response. Again can I join the thumbs up club? I also wonder if there is the term Holier than thou in scripture? Because Jesus talks more taking care of the poor and the ultimate bad plight of the rich than he does everything else, yet our 'Christian lawmakers' worry more about keeping Gays from marrying and sexual morality than they do about taking care of the least of these. You guys continue to attack personally when I talk about systemic and systematic change. Our government is not a fascist dictatorship. We elect people to congress to do the will of the people. The government does not steal money from anyone (God would say the money is not yours anyway - matter of fact, God would probably say that money actually belongs to 'Ceasar'. What if your not a Christian? This is exactly why Religion has to be kept out of government.

Some of our "Christian lawmakers" defend the unborn, whom I would place at the top of the "least of these" category.
August 1, 201115 yr Author Some of our "Christian lawmakers" defend the unborn, whom I would place at the top of the "least of these" category. I would agree that they attempt to protect the unborn which I see as admirable, what strikes me is that once born they quit defending and assume the babies, children and teenagers will manage to take care of themselves.
August 1, 201115 yr what strikes me is that once born they quit defending and assume the babies, children and teenagers will manage to take care of themselves. This is an area where pro-lifers do need to make improvement when there is legitimate poverty. But there is nothing wrong with expecting the adults who have these children to assume responsibility for their actions.
