Always do. Rowan Co. lost at home in the 16th region in 2007. BUT, they lost 2 regular season Region 16 matches that year to Morgan Co. and Russell. Not quite as dominant in their region as NCC in 2011. Tell me who NCC has lost to in Region 10 this year? (no one). Tell me who in Region 10 is realistically going to beat them, at home, with a state berth on the line? Please, please tell me.

NCC is 2-0 in the region (Compared to Deming who is 11-3). This is true that they are undefeated. Listen - no one is disputing that they aren't the team to beat. Many have stated in this thread (including me) that NCC is the team this year. They point that people are making is that there is still a lot of games to be played, and things can happen. That is the .05 cent point that people are talking about.

 

Playing at home, with the depth/experience/coaching will make them the favorite hands down - but nothing is concrete come playoff time. (Also check South Oldham in 2010; Southwestern in 2009; Marshall Co and Henderson in 2008).

Next year will be interesting as NCC and Highlands joins Notre Dame and St. Henry in the 9th Region.

By the way ,the eight grader from St Joseph's Cold Spring that is playing varsity for Brossart is reportedly going to Notre Dame next year . Best of luck to her .

 

Since she is seeing varsity time, will she have to sit out a year or does that rule only apply to public schools? Or is this not considered a transfer since she is not enrolled at Brossart. Someone please educate me on this please.

Interesting. I'm not sure I understand why Brossart would let someone who they know is not going to enroll in their school take a spot on the varsity roster. That has to cause some resentment from JV or even freshman players, in my opinion. Why would you take the time and effort to develop someone who is not in your future plans?

Don't understand it but I know that it has happened before .

That is correct the KHSAA eligibilty rules apply only to high school students. You can play several years of varsity and transfer before your freshmen year and it is technically not even a transfer in the eyes of the KHSAA. Public schools (particularly those in Lousville as it pertains to two large private schools) tried to get this changed a few years back basically saying once you hit 6th grade in a feeder school that was your school of eligibilty, but that did not pass.

 

***Note: This is not a public vs private issue for me and I am not making any comment about that, just stating what happened with this rule.
