That would have made sense. I suspect Webster will get a decent check to come to Scott County, and I'm guessing they're making the trip next year, too.

Is there any chance for some maneuvering and still bring a team like Eminence in? I'm thinking Belfry play Shelby Valley and then East Ridge play Eminence, instead of Shelby Valley. Just an option.

If a game were to be scheduled Week 0 then Belfry would be forced to cancel their scrimmage with Hazard on that date. Would that be fair to make Hazard scramble around to find a scrimmage this late?

Probably not, but I would imagine a regular season game would be better to play than a scrimmage. Also, if Hazard is scrimmaging during Week 0, then that means they have chosen to scrimmage two games instead of one, so they would still have another scrimmage.

Move the PIKE COUNTY BOWL to week zero(the real week 1)

When you consider Belfry overachieved last year an early season beat down could really shatter their confidence. They need a patsy in this game.

 

I'm very disappointed in you GURU. Being the avid fan of all high school football you should know that one thing Belfry is famous for in Eastern KY is that they aren't afraid to schedule anyone! They play Johnson Central tough every year and I seem to remember Johnson Central giving highlands all they could handle! If I'm not mistaken JC has only beaten Belfry 2 times? They may be forced to schedule a creampuff with this development but even those of us that want nothing more than to beat Belfry every year have to admit that Beflry is afraid of NOBODY! They would schedule Highlands for Homecoming and not give it a second thought. Some times smaller school don't know they are small.

I noticed Harlan and Williamsburg play on the night of the Pike Co Bowl, Aug 26 and Harlan currently has a 9 game schedule according to KHSAA.

Coincidentally, Harlan and Williamsburg both have the same open date later in the season on September 30.

I don't know if Harlan would be interested in playing in the Pike Co Bowl, but if they are, maybe they could agree with Williamsburg to move the Harlan/Williamsburg game to Sep 30.

Another option would be if a suitable opponent could be found for Pikeville, then Belfry could play Harrison County this year. I'm hearing that may be looking like a possibility.

I just got a call that Belfry finally has an opponent for the PCB. :banana:

 

A team from Tennessee, Tellico, has agreed to come, only they will face Pikeville instead of Belfry.

 

Belfry will play Harrison County, who was originally slotted to play Pikeville.

 

Mark Carroll, Belfry alum, coaches Harrison County so that will be a homecoming of sorts. He coached at Lexington Christian for a few years prior to taking the job at Harrison Co last season.

I know Harrison is a two year deal, they will play Belfry this year and Pikeville next year.

 

I don't know if Tellico, TN is contracted to 2 years or 1.
