June 30, 201115 yr No I'm not. I've been in 3 weddings in the last 3 weeks. All 3 had to begin the process nearly a year before the wedding and finally had their marriage license and everything completed only a month before the wedding. Contact the Hopkins County Courthouse and tell them they who issue the marriage license are wrong then. You sure it wasn't a requirement of the faith they were being married under? I know my church has certain requirements that would take longer if they want to use the church building. Some meetings/counseling with minister and other conditions. Those have been known to take several months.

For clarification, I'm not talking about simple JOP weddings. I'm talking about weddings that the church would view as valid. Okay, THAT is the WAY I THINK ALL MARRIAGES SHOULD HAVE TO BE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Making my point that this mentality of adults should be allowed to do whatever they want to do as long as it does not directly affect someone while totally ignoring any indirect results to society is a mindset that is not good for this country. The casino issues, the drug issues and many more issues that have sprung from this mindset is not good for this country.

June 30, 201115 yr The obvious difference between that and homosexuality is that it's a crime to take advantage of and/or molest a child. It's not a crime to be a homosexual. Do you think homosexuality should be illegal? First and foremost, I do not think homosexuality should be illegal. Now think about this for a moment...at one time, I am pretty sure that it was illegal, because people thought it was harmful, etc. Here is the extent of "my reach", if a group of people say that they are born with an attraction to children and want to marry them, what is stopping laws to change in maybe 50 or so years? Like LBBC said, if they scream loud enough it could happen. Just saying.....

The fact is if Tom and Steve want to get married, sit around smoking dope and shoving dollars in slot machines your life doesn't change. My life doesn't change. UKMF's life doesn't change. This isn't lbbc's country alone and it shouldn't be governed according to your religious morality. There are plenty of things that are important to this country that do not directly affect me. Yet, they are important for this country and have to be pursued or protected. Your implication from your post is that morality for this country is somehow bad? Or only things that you would deem immoral. For example, I lost no money in the Enron scandal. Would you agree that it is now fine with you that I support laws to make that illegal (like marriage that is not between a woman/man) and it is based on my brand of morality. That is the problem with so many opinions. They LOVE to judge people on throwing their brand of morality around when they disagree with it but fine with it when they agree with it.

June 30, 201115 yr counseling is what I meant. OK, who does the counseling? Your pastor? Somebody else's? Are you going to mandate all engaged couples shell out big bucks for a therapist?
