I'll have to think about the matchups but off the top of my head I am having a hard time seeing the Mavs winning. Too much star power on the Heat. If the Mavs win it will be because of Dirk closing out wins for them. I do think the Mavs can matchup defensively with the Heat and they have veteran power. It should be a good series.

The Heat in 6. Big 3 and Miami's defense will end up being too much IMO. LeBron with the MVP and another signature performance or 3.

LeBron guarding Dirk at the end of games is going to be fun to watch. I lean toward the Heat in six also. But I am rooting for the Mavs. I just don't want it to be that easy for the big 3. I want it to take more than just getting 3 guys together and surrounding them with whatever scraps you can to fill a roster. I like the way Dirk and the Mavs have paid their dues and would like to see them get this one. After this, I am ok with whatever the Heat can accomplish. Just not in year one.

After some thought I am saying the Mavs in 6. Difference will be inside presence and bench play from the Mavs.

The Mavs are more talented than the Bulls, and unlike Chicago they aren't going to collapse every game in the 4th quarter and just let Miami walk all over them. I'll say Dallas in 6 as well.

Side prediction: Brandon Haywood will have multiple flagrant fouls (I can only hope they're on LeBron).

I'm going with the Mavs in 6. Just a guess...

One interesting tidbit for this series - both Dallas and Miami were 28-13 on the road this season, tied for tops in the NBA.

The way Dirk draws fouls can Miami really afford to have Lebron trying to guard him?

If there is any justice in the world, any Heat player will be called for a foul if they get within a 3 foot radius of Dirk. It's only fair since that's how they called the previous Heat-Mavs finals for D-Wade. The league owes Dirk and Dallas a lot of makeup calls...hopefully the statute of limitations hasn't expired on that.

I would. The NBA wouldn't dare allow their "King" to get into foul trouble. LeBron will be allowed to get away with murder in this one. If for no other reason because Stern hates Cuban and wants to stick it to him.

I nearly forgot about that mess. You are right.

More likely, Dallas will get more of the same, so the Heat would be stupid not to put Lebron on him. The officials will probably determine the winner of this series.

I agree with the Heat in 6. However we will see Wade get back to his old self this series, and he will end up winning the MVP like he did against the Mavs last time. James will also have a big series too though.

Meaning like they have at any finals with star players in it, like they have for Kobe in a lot of the finals he has been in?

Like they typically do, yes. It won't be anything new.

However, the Heat vs. Mavericks finals where D-Wade got to live at the foul line was ridiculous even by the NBA's poor standards.
